Soft White Windowpane Velvet Curtains, Teal Blush Mustard Plaid, Custom Blackout Nursery & Kids Room Drapes
SOFT WHITE PASTEL WINDOWPANE PLAID VELVET CURTAINS FOR NURSERY AND KIDS’ ROOMS
Bring soft color, playful geometry, and the luxurious texture of velvet to your child’s room with these printed windowpane curtain panels. The open, uncluttered pattern works beautifully in nurseries, toddler bedrooms, kids’ rooms, playrooms, reading corners, creative spaces, and gender-neutral interiors.
Each curtain is available as a single panel or as a pair/set of two. Choose an unlined finish, an organic cotton light-filtering liner, or an OEKO-TEX-certified 100% blackout polycotton liner.
COLOR AND PATTERN
The design is printed over a soft-white to warm-ivory background. Slim, gently irregular horizontal and vertical lines intersect to form a large, airy windowpane grid.
Instead of one continuous color, the lines are divided into softly coordinated pastel and earthy segments, including:
- Muted teal and slate blue
- Soft blue-gray
- Dusty blush and rose pink
- Mauve, plum, and muted burgundy
- Camel, tan, ochre, and mustard
- Rust and soft terracotta
- Pale lavender-gray and stone gray
Small striped and hash-mark details appear along some sections of the lines, giving the print a subtle hand-drawn character. From across the room, it reads as a clean pastel windowpane plaid. Up close, the changing colors and tiny linear accents add playful detail.
This is not a tightly repeated gingham or a traditional tartan. It is a relaxed, large-scale grid with open rectangular spaces, softly uneven lines, and a modern illustrated appearance.
THICK PRINTED VELVET
The substantial printed velvet has a thick, heavy hand and a soft, short-pile surface that gives the curtains an elegant drape. It is especially suitable for children’s rooms where you want something softer and more luxurious than ordinary lightweight curtain fabric.
The fabric weighs 403 grams per linear metre at 54 inches wide. This converts to approximately 294 GSM.
Because velvet has a directional pile, the color may appear slightly lighter or deeper when viewed from different angles or under changing light. This natural shading is part of velvet’s character and is not a defect.
LINING OPTIONS
1. Unlined
The unlined option preserves the natural drape and lightest construction of the velvet. Although the fabric is substantial, it allows softened, diffused daylight to pass through and may appear slightly semi-sheer when strongly backlit.
It provides useful daytime privacy, but silhouettes may be visible from outside at night when the room lights are on. Choose this option when gentle filtered light is preferred over complete privacy or darkness.
2. Organic cotton light-filtering liner
The organic cotton liner adds body, structure, and additional privacy. It is designed to make the curtain completely opaque during normal use while still allowing a soft glow of natural light into the room.
This is a good choice for nurseries, children’s bedrooms, and playrooms where privacy is important but complete darkness is not required. The organic cotton liner is light filtering, not blackout.
3. OEKO-TEX-certified 100% blackout polycotton liner
Choose the blackout liner when maximum light control is required for naps, early bedtimes, nurseries, or rooms affected by streetlights and morning sun.
The OEKO-TEX-certified polycotton blackout liner blocks light from passing through the curtain fabric and creates complete darkness across the covered area. Small amounts of light can still enter around the top, sides, center opening, or bottom depending on the curtain rod, track, heading, fullness, and installation.
The OEKO-TEX certification applies to the blackout lining material.
ORDER ONE PANEL OR A PAIR
These curtains are available as:
- One individual curtain panel
- One pair/set of two matching curtain panels
The selected width is the finished flat width of each individual panel, not the combined width of a pair.
Examples:
- One 50-inch-wide panel = 50 inches total flat width
- A pair of 50-inch-wide panels = 100 inches total flat width
- One 100-inch-wide panel = 100 inches total flat width
- A pair of 100-inch-wide panels = 200 inches total flat width
Listing photographs may show two curtains for styling. Please select the pair/set-of-two option if you require two panels.
AVAILABLE WIDTHS
- 50 inches / approximately 127 cm per panel
- 100 inches / approximately 254 cm per panel
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH WIDTHS
A 100-inch-wide curtain panel is made by carefully joining two 50-inch sections of fabric. Each 100-inch panel will therefore have one vertical seam near the middle.
We join the sections carefully and align the design wherever the print repeat permits. The seam is normally barely visible once the curtain is installed and arranged into natural folds. This seam is a standard and necessary part of constructing an extra-wide panel, not a manufacturing defect.
If you order a pair of 100-inch panels, each panel will contain its own center seam.
AVAILABLE HEIGHTS
Standard finished heights are offered from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
- 36 inches / approximately 91 cm
- 48 inches / approximately 122 cm
- 60 inches / approximately 152 cm
- 72 inches / approximately 183 cm
- 84 inches / approximately 213 cm
- 96 inches / approximately 244 cm
- 108 inches / approximately 274 cm
- 120 inches / approximately 305 cm
- 132 inches / approximately 335 cm
- 144 inches / approximately 366 cm
- 156 inches / approximately 396 cm
- 168 inches / approximately 427 cm
- 180 inches / approximately 457 cm
CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES
Custom widths and lengths are welcome.
To order a custom measurement, select the next standard size that is larger than the finished size you require. Enter your exact finished width and length in the order details email.
Example: If you need one panel measuring 63 inches wide by 90 inches long, select the 100-inch by 96-inch option and request 63 inches wide by 90 inches long in Personalization.
Please state whether your measurements are in inches or centimeters. Measurements entered in Personalization will be treated as the required finished curtain dimensions.
FOUR HEADING STYLES
Choose from the following curtain headings:
1. Hooks top
A heading suitable for curtain hooks. It can be installed on either a curtain track or a rod fitted with rings and hooks, making it the most versatile option for traditional and contemporary installations.
2. Back tabs
Fabric tabs are sewn discreetly onto the reverse of the curtain. The rod passes through the hidden tabs, creating neat folds while keeping the heading hardware out of sight.
3. Rod pocket
A sewn channel at the top allows the curtain rod to slide directly through the fabric. This creates a simple gathered heading and works particularly well for nursery curtains, kids’ curtains, short curtains, and cafe curtains.
4. Grommets
Metal eyelets are fitted across the top of the curtain so the rod passes directly through them. Grommets create even folds and a clean, contemporary appearance.

CAFE CURTAINS AND SHORT WINDOW CURTAINS
This fabric can also be made into custom cafe curtains, kitchen cafe curtains, short window curtains, or tier curtains. The playful pastel grid is especially attractive on smaller nursery, playroom, breakfast-room, or reading-nook windows.
For a custom cafe-curtain size, select the next available size up and enter the exact finished measurements and preferred heading in the order details email.
MEASURING AND FULLNESS
Measure the full width of the rod or track rather than only the glass. For an attractive gathered appearance, the combined flat width of the curtains is commonly around 1.5 to 2 times the covered width. Choose greater fullness if you prefer deeper folds.
For example, a pair of 50-inch panels provides 100 inches of combined flat fabric width.
Please account for the position of the rod or track when choosing the finished length. The way the finished curtain hangs will vary slightly between hooks, back tabs, rod pockets, and grommets.
IDEAL FOR
- Baby nurseries and toddler rooms
- Girls’, boys’, and gender-neutral kids’ rooms
- Playrooms and creative spaces

- Custom extra-long and extra-wide windows

IMPORTANT NOTES
- Pattern placement will vary between panels and sizes because every curtain is cut from a larger repeat.
- The exact positions of the colored segments, grid intersections, and small striped details may differ from the sample photograph.
- Velvet pile naturally creates subtle tonal changes depending on viewing direction and lighting.
- Colors can vary slightly between screens and under warm, cool, natural, or artificial room lighting.
- A 100-inch-wide panel contains one carefully finished center seam.
- The blackout liner prevents light from passing through the covered fabric, but installation gaps may allow some peripheral light into the room.
- Please review the selected quantity carefully to ensure you have ordered either one panel or the required pair/set of two.
