how to measure (step-by-step)
inside recess (inside mount)

1. Measure the inside width of your window recess in 3 places: top, middle, bottom.

2. Use the smallest of the three measurements as your reference.

3. For smooth operation inside a recess, many customers prefer ordering the shade slightly smaller than the tight recess width (about 1/4 in or 0.5 cm less). If you want a true snug fit, enter the exact finished size you prefer—just be consistent with what you type in the order details email.

4. Measure the drop/length from the top inside edge of the recess down to where you want the shade to end (sill, below sill, or to a specific point).

5. If your recess depth is shallow, an outside mount may sit cleaner and operate more smoothly.

1. Measure the width you want the shade to cover, not just the glass.

2. For better light coverage and privacy, many customers add overlap beyond the window opening (commonly 2–4 in / 5–10 cm on each side, if space allows).

3. Measure the length from where the top of the shade will be installed (above the window trim/frame) down to your desired endpoint.

4. To reduce light gaps, consider mounting slightly higher and ordering a slightly longer drop than the window opening.
