The blackout lining is made from a non-toxic OEKO-TEX certified polycotton fabric containing:

• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester

This lining is designed to prevent light from passing through the fabric itself and is recommended for bedrooms, nurseries, children’s rooms, media rooms, home theatres, shift workers and anyone who prefers a darker sleeping environment.

Please remember that “100% blackout” describes the lining fabric. Small amounts of light may still appear around the outer edges of a blind, particularly with an inside-recess installation. HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN INSIDE-RECESS ROMAN BLIND

An inside-recess blind is fitted within the window opening. This creates a neat, integrated appearance and allows the surrounding window trim to remain visible.

1. CHECK THE RECESS

Make sure the recess is sufficiently deep for the blind and its mounting hardware. Check for window handles, locks, tiles, mouldings or other obstructions that could interfere with the blind.

2. MEASURE THE WIDTH IN THREE PLACES

Measure the internal width of the recess at:

• The top
• The middle
• The bottom

Use the smallest of the three measurements.

3. MEASURE THE HEIGHT IN THREE PLACES

Measure the internal height at:

• The left side
• The centre
• The right side

Use the longest of the three height measurements.

4. PROVIDE THE EXACT RECESS MEASUREMENTS

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN OUTSIDE-RECESS ROMAN BLIND

An outside-recess Roman blind is fitted to the wall or trim above and around the window opening. This installation can make the window appear larger and may provide better coverage around the edges.

1. DECIDE THE REQUIRED OVERLAP

Decide how far the blind should extend beyond the window opening. Where space allows, an overlap of approximately 2–3 inches or 5–7.5 cm on each side can improve privacy and reduce light entering around the edges.

2. MEASURE THE TOTAL FINISHED WIDTH

Measure the complete width you want the finished blind to cover, including the desired overlap on both sides.

3. MEASURE THE TOTAL FINISHED HEIGHT

Measure from the intended top mounting position down to the point where you want the lowered blind to finish.

Allow sufficient space above the window for the mounting hardware and for the blind to gather into folds when raised.

4. PROVIDE THE EXACT FINISHED SIZE
