Measure for your curtains

Enter your width and height together, then apply your measurements.

Size-dropdown widths are flat fabric widths per curtain.

A gathered curtain covers less space than its flat fabric width. Choose fullness below; Grommet/Eyelet and Pinch pleats always need 2× your coverage width.

This selection also updates Heading style on the product page.

Choose your fullness

Multiply the rod / track coverage by your fullness, then divide by the number of curtains.

Photorealistic fullness examples; actual folds vary with fabric and heading.

Measure the usable span of your installed rod or track, from one end of the curtain coverage to the other. Exclude decorative finials.

A pair contains two curtains. The flat fabric width you order is per curtain, not the combined pair. Choosing a curtain count here updates Panel quantity on the product page.

Enter the full measured drop. For Hooks top only, we subtract 1 in (2.54 cm) because the curtain hangs slightly below the rod. Do not deduct it yourself.

Apply your measurements

We select the exact available flat-width × finished-height size, or the closest larger size fitting both dimensions. For a larger size, your exact request is added to Custom sizes / requirements, preserving your own notes. Your curtain-count choice also updates Panel quantity on the product page.

Review your heading and fullness before applying. This updates your selected size but does not add anything to your cart.

How to measure · illustrations and examples

Measure the space your curtains will cover

Measure the usable span of your installed rod or track, from one end of the curtain coverage to the other. Exclude decorative finials.

Measure the usable rod or track span—not the window glass or decorative finials.

Example: a 100 in (254 cm) rod, two curtains and 2× fullness need 100 in (254 cm) flat width per curtain.

Flat fabric width before gathering or pleating—not the hanging coverage.

Measure from the top of the rod to your chosen bottom

Measure straight down from the top of your installed curtain rod to where you want the curtains to end. For a track, use the top of the installed track.

Start at the top of the rod or track. Stop at your chosen bottom.

Powder Blue Pure Linen Embroidered Curtains, Ivory Floral Damask Drapes, French Country Custom Extra Long Blackout Panels

POWDER BLUE PURE LINEN EMBROIDERED CURTAINS WITH IVORY AND BLUE FLORAL DAMASK EMBROIDERY

Bring elegant colour, substantial natural texture and richly detailed embroidery to your windows with these custom-made pure linen curtains.

The thick and heavy pure linen fabric has a soft powder-blue to pale blue-grey background decorated with elaborate embroidered floral scrollwork in dusty blue, periwinkle blue, deeper navy-blue accents and warm ivory.

The embroidery forms a sophisticated large-scale damask-inspired pattern composed of curling acanthus leaves, stylised flowers, ornate vines, scrolls and symmetrical botanical flourishes. The design has a refined traditional European and French-country character while remaining versatile enough for contemporary, transitional, classic and softly coastal interiors.

From a distance, the curtains create an elegant blue-and-ivory damask effect. Viewed more closely, the raised embroidery threads, individual stitched details, varying blue tones and natural linen texture become much more visible.

The contrast between the pale blue linen ground and the deeper blue embroidery creates depth without appearing overly dark, while the ivory embroidered sections lift and soften the overall pattern.

These curtains are individually made to order and can be purchased as:

• One single curtain panel
• A pair or set of two matching curtain panels

They can be made:

• Unlined
• With an organic cotton light-filtering liner
• With a 100% blackout OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton liner

COLOUR AND PATTERN

Main background colour:

A soft powder blue to very pale blue-grey with subtle icy-blue and mist-grey undertones.

Embroidery colours:

• Dusty blue
• Periwinkle blue
• Medium denim blue
• Deeper navy-blue accents
• Warm ivory
• Soft cream-white

Pattern style:

A large-scale embroidered floral damask featuring:

• Curling acanthus leaves
• Scrolling floral vines
• Stylised blossoms
• Ornamental leaf sprays
• Symmetrical damask medallion shapes
• Baroque-inspired flourishes
• Traditional botanical scrollwork
• Decorative French-country influence

The embroidery is stitched directly onto the linen fabric rather than printed on the surface.

This creates a tactile raised texture that gives the curtains considerably more depth than a flat printed textile.

The stitches vary naturally in direction across the pattern. As light falls across the embroidery, some threads may appear lighter, darker or more reflective depending on the viewing angle.

The blue embroidery is intentionally tonal rather than one uniform colour. Some sections appear soft periwinkle or dusty blue, while darker stitched areas create navy and slate-blue shadows.

The ivory sections provide additional contrast and highlight parts of the floral pattern.

Depending on the room lighting, the fabric may appear:

• Powder blue
• Pale sky blue
• Mist blue
• Blue grey
• Icy blue

The embroidery may appear:

• Dusty blue
• Periwinkle
• Denim blue
• Navy
• Slate blue
• Ivory
• Soft cream

Please remember that colours can appear slightly different depending on natural daylight, artificial lighting, surrounding wall colours, screen calibration and photography.

The overall colour should be considered a soft powder-blue and ivory curtain with multiple tonal blue embroidered accents rather than a flat two-colour textile.

PURE LINEN EMBROIDERED FABRIC

These curtains are made from thick and heavy pure linen fabric decorated with substantial embroidery.

The linen provides the natural ground and visible woven texture, while the embroidery adds:

• Raised tactile detail
• Extra visual depth
• A luxurious decorative finish
• Additional structure
• Strong pattern definition
• A handcrafted textile appearance
• Beautiful interaction with changing light

The embroidery is intentionally prominent and forms an important part of the character of the fabric.

Unlike a printed damask, the individual stitches can be seen and felt.

Natural linen may contain occasional slubs, minor yarn variations, slightly thicker fibres or small irregularities. These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and should not be considered defects.

Small variations in the embroidery are also natural to a stitched textile and contribute to the fabric’s character.

FABRIC WEIGHT

The pure linen embroidered face fabric weighs 403 grams per linear metre at a fabric width of 54 inches.

A fabric width of 54 inches is approximately 1.3716 metres.

The approximate conversion is:

403 grams ÷ 1.3716 square metres = approximately 294 grams per square metre

The face fabric therefore weighs approximately 294 GSM.

This is a substantial curtain fabric that produces attractive body and structure while still retaining the natural movement associated with linen.

Adding an organic cotton liner or blackout liner will make the completed curtains heavier, fuller and more structured.

SINGLE PANEL OR PAIR

These curtains can be ordered as:

• One single curtain panel
• A pair or set of two matching curtain panels

Please check your quantity selection carefully before placing the order.

Selecting “Single Panel” provides one curtain in the selected width and height.

Selecting “Pair” or “Set of 2” provides two separate curtain panels, with each individual curtain made in the selected width and height.

The selected width refers to the flat finished width of EACH individual curtain panel before gathering.

Examples:

• One 50-inch-wide curtain = 50 inches total flat width
• Pair of 50-inch-wide curtains = 100 inches combined flat width
• One 100-inch-wide curtain = 100 inches total flat width
• Pair of 100-inch-wide curtains = 200 inches combined flat width

Please remember that a curtain occupies less horizontal space after it has been gathered or arranged into folds on a curtain rod or track.

AVAILABLE WIDTHS

The standard finished-width options are:

• 50 inches wide / approximately 127 cm per panel
• 100 inches wide / approximately 254 cm per panel

The selected width is the flat finished width of each individual curtain panel before gathering.

For example:

If you select a pair of 50-inch-wide curtains, you will receive two individual panels measuring 50 inches wide each.

The combined flat width will therefore be 100 inches.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE PANELS

Every 100-inch-wide curtain panel will be made by joining two approximately 50-inch-wide fabric sections.

There will therefore be one carefully sewn vertical joining seam near the middle of every 100-inch-wide curtain panel.

The seam is generally barely visible once the curtain has been:

• Installed on the curtain rod or track
• Gathered into the appropriate fullness
• Arranged into natural folds
• Viewed from a normal distance

This construction method is necessary because the original embroidered fabric is produced in a limited loom width.

If you purchase one 100-inch-wide curtain panel, that panel will contain one joining seam.

If you purchase a pair of 100-inch-wide curtain panels, each individual panel will contain its own joining seam.

We will align the embroidered floral pattern across the joined sections as carefully as reasonably possible.

However, exact pattern matching may vary slightly according to:

• The embroidery repeat
• Finished curtain width
• Finished curtain height
• Heading construction
• Position of the embroidered motif

AVAILABLE HEIGHTS

Standard finished curtain heights are available from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:

• 36 inches / approximately 91 cm
• 48 inches / approximately 122 cm
• 60 inches / approximately 152 cm
• 72 inches / approximately 183 cm
• 84 inches / approximately 213 cm
• 96 inches / approximately 244 cm
• 108 inches / approximately 274 cm
• 120 inches / approximately 305 cm
• 132 inches / approximately 335 cm
• 144 inches / approximately 366 cm
• 156 inches / approximately 396 cm
• 168 inches / approximately 427 cm
• 180 inches / approximately 457 cm

The longer options are particularly suitable for:

• Floor-to-ceiling windows
• Extra-long living-room curtains
• Tall bedroom windows
• High ceilings
• Two-storey windows
• Double-height rooms
• Loft apartments
• Large picture windows
• French doors
• Formal dining rooms
• Oversized custom window treatments

CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES

Custom widths and custom heights are also available.

To order a custom size:

1. Measure the exact FINISHED width and height required for each curtain panel.
2. Select the next available standard size larger than your required measurements.
3. Enter the exact finished measurements in the order details email.
4. Clearly state whether your measurements are in inches or centimetres.
5. Enter your required heading style.
6. Enter your required lining option.
7. Mention whether you require a single panel or a pair.
8. Include any other important custom requirements.

For example:

If you require each curtain to measure 46 inches wide × 90 inches high:

Select:

50-inch width × 96-inch height

Then write in the order details email:

Finished size required: 46 inches wide × 90 inches high per panel
Quantity: Pair
Heading: Back Tabs
Lining: Organic Cotton Light Filtering

Please always select the next available size UP rather than a smaller size.

The purchased option must contain enough fabric to produce your required finished measurements.

If your required measurement falls between two standard sizes, choose the larger option and enter the precise dimensions in the order details email.

LINING OPTIONS

These embroidered pure linen curtains are available with three lining choices:

1. UNLINED
2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
3. 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER

Please enter your chosen lining option in the order details email when placing the order.

1. UNLINED

The unlined option preserves the natural appearance, texture and drape of the embroidered pure linen fabric.

When unlined, these curtains are semi-sheer privacy curtains.

They soften the view through the window and allow natural daylight to filter gently into the room.

Although the face fabric is thick and substantial, some light can pass through the linen when it is strongly backlit.

The exact degree of transparency will depend on:

• Strength of sunlight
• Direction of sunlight
• Curtain fullness
• Time of day
• Interior lighting
• Distance between the curtain and window
• Whether the curtains are viewed from inside or outside

During daylight hours, the unlined curtains provide a useful degree of privacy while keeping the room naturally bright.

At night, particularly when indoor lights are switched on, silhouettes or shadows may be visible from outside.

If complete nighttime privacy is important, we recommend selecting one of the lined options.

Choose unlined curtains if you prefer:

• The natural appearance of pure linen
• Softly filtered daylight
• Semi-sheer privacy
• A lighter finished curtain
• Maximum visibility of the embroidery
• A relaxed natural drape
• Decorative living-room curtains
• Curtains layered with an existing Roman blind or shade

2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER

The organic cotton light-filtering liner provides significantly greater privacy, complete visual opacity, additional body and a more substantial drape while still allowing softened natural daylight into the room.

When the organic cotton liner is added, the curtain becomes completely opaque under normal use.

The main linen fabric will no longer appear semi-sheer.

The organic cotton lining:

• Makes the curtain completely opaque
• Provides increased daytime privacy
• Provides increased nighttime privacy
• Softens incoming daylight
• Diffuses harsh sunlight
• Adds body and structure
• Supports the heavy embroidered fabric
• Creates fuller folds
• Gives the curtain a more luxurious drape
• Reduces visible shadows from outside

This option is particularly suitable for:

• Living rooms
• Dining rooms
• Bedrooms
• Guest rooms
• Nurseries
• Home offices
• Street-facing windows
• Rooms where privacy is important
• Spaces where natural daylight is still wanted

Please note that the organic cotton liner is LIGHT FILTERING rather than blackout.

Daylight will continue to enter through the completed curtain, but it will be considerably softened.

Choose this option when you want an opaque privacy curtain without making the room completely dark.

3. 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED LINER

The blackout option uses an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified non-toxic polycotton blackout liner composed of:

• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester

This specialised liner blocks light from passing through the body of the curtain.

The completed curtain fabric becomes fully opaque and prevents light transmission through the textile.

The blackout liner is particularly suitable for:

• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Guest bedrooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Shift workers
• Street-facing windows
• Rooms receiving strong sunlight
• Rooms where darkness is important for sleep
• Spaces requiring maximum privacy

Please note:

The blackout liner prevents light from passing THROUGH the curtain fabric.

A small amount of light can still enter around:

• The top of the curtains
• The outer sides
• The bottom
• The centre opening between two panels

This depends on the installation and does not mean light is passing through the blackout-lined curtain itself.

For the darkest possible result:

• Order generous curtain fullness
• Extend the rod or track beyond both sides of the window
• Install the curtain higher than the window opening
• Allow the two panels to overlap at the centre
• Select sufficient curtain length
• Position the curtain close to the wall where practical
• Ensure the complete window opening is covered

AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES

Four heading styles are available:

1. HOOKS TOP
2. BACK TABS
3. ROD POCKET
4. GROMMETS

Your required heading style must be written in the order details email.

1. HOOKS TOP

The hooks-top heading is compatible with both curtain rods and curtain tracks.

For a curtain rod:

The hooks can attach to suitable rings fitted to the rod.

For a curtain track:

The hooks can connect to the runners or gliders fitted to the track.

Hooks top is particularly suitable for:

• Curtain tracks
• Curtain rods with rings
• Ceiling-mounted tracks
• Wall-mounted tracks
• Frequently opened curtains
• Large windows
• Extra-long curtains
• Traditional interiors
• Transitional interiors
• Contemporary interiors

This is the most versatile heading choice if you require compatibility with either a curtain track or rod-and-ring system.

2. BACK TABS

Back tabs are fabric loops sewn onto the reverse of the curtain heading.

The curtain rod passes through these concealed tabs.

When viewed from the front, most of the curtain rod remains hidden.

Back-tab curtains create:

• Soft regular folds
• A clean tailored appearance
• Minimal visible hardware
• A modern finish
• A gently structured drape

Back tabs are designed for use with a curtain rod rather than direct installation on a standard curtain track.

3. ROD POCKET

A rod pocket is a sewn fabric channel running across the top of the curtain.

The curtain rod slides directly through the pocket.

This creates a softly gathered and relaxed appearance.

Rod-pocket curtains are suitable for:

• Decorative curtain rods
• Living-room curtains
• Bedroom curtains
• Guest rooms
• Smaller windows
• Short curtains
• Layered window treatments
• Custom cafe curtains
• Curtains that do not need to be opened frequently

Please make sure that your curtain rod diameter is compatible with the rod-pocket opening.

4. GROMMETS

Grommets, also commonly called eyelets, are rings fitted across the top of the curtain.

The curtain rod passes directly through the grommets.

This creates broad and evenly spaced folds.

Grommet curtains provide:

• A clean contemporary appearance
• Deep wave-like folds
• Easy opening and closing
• Visible decorative hardware
• A modern window-treatment style

Grommet curtains require a curtain rod.

They cannot be attached directly to a standard curtain track.

Please ensure that your curtain rod diameter is compatible with the grommet opening.

CURTAIN FULLNESS

The width selected is the FLAT FINISHED WIDTH of each curtain panel before gathering.

For an attractive finished appearance, the combined curtain width should normally be wider than the usable width of your curtain rod or track.

As a general guide:

• Approximately 1.5 times fullness = relaxed, contemporary appearance
• Approximately 2 times fullness = fuller, deeper and more luxurious folds

Example:

For a 50-inch-wide curtain rod:

One 50-inch-wide panel provides almost flat coverage with little gathering.

A pair of 50-inch-wide panels provides 100 inches of combined flat width and approximately twice fullness.

For a 100-inch-wide curtain rod:

A pair of 100-inch-wide panels provides 200 inches of combined flat width and approximately twice fullness.

Greater fullness creates deeper folds and allows the blue-and-ivory embroidered damask pattern to flow richly across the window.

Lower fullness creates a flatter curtain and displays more complete sections of the embroidery.

HOW TO MEASURE CURTAIN WIDTH

1. Measure the usable width of the curtain rod or track.
2. Do not include decorative finials.
3. Decide how much fullness you want.
4. Multiply the usable width by approximately 1.5 or 2.
5. Divide the resulting total by the number of panels required.

Example:

Usable rod width: 80 inches
Desired fullness: 2 times

80 × 2 = 160 inches combined curtain width required

A pair of 100-inch-wide curtains would provide 200 inches combined flat width and create generous fullness.

HOW TO MEASURE CURTAIN HEIGHT

Measure from the top of the installed curtain rod or track to where you want the curtains to end. For Hooks top only, subtract 1 in (2.54 cm) once from this measurement because the curtains hang slightly below the rod. Do not deduct or add an allowance for other heading styles.

The starting point differs according to heading style:

Hooks Top:
Measure from the top of the installed curtain rod or track to where you want the curtains to end. For Hooks top only, subtract 1 in (2.54 cm) once from this measurement because the curtains hang slightly below the rod.

Back Tabs:
Measure from the top of the curtain rod.

Rod Pocket:
Measure from the top of the curtain rod.

Grommets:
Measure from the top of the installed curtain rod or track to where you want the curtains to end. Do not add an allowance above the eyelets.

Possible finished curtain lengths include:

• Window-sill length
• Below-sill length
• Apron length
• Floor length
• Just touching the floor
• Slightly puddling onto the floor

For floor-length curtains, we recommend measuring at more than one point because floors and curtain rods are not always completely level.

CUSTOM CAFE CURTAINS

These embroidered pure linen curtains can also be custom made as cafe curtains, kitchen cafe curtains, half-window curtains or short privacy curtains.

Cafe curtains cover the lower portion of a window while leaving the upper section open for daylight.

They are suitable for:

• Kitchen windows
• Breakfast rooms
• Dining areas
• Bathrooms
• Powder rooms
• Utility rooms
• Pantry windows
• Street-facing windows
• French doors
• Small decorative windows
• Lower-half window privacy

The powder-blue background and ornate blue-and-ivory embroidery make these especially attractive as decorative cafe curtains for:

• French-country kitchens
• Elegant breakfast rooms
• Coastal-inspired kitchens
• Traditional dining areas
• Cottage-style interiors
• Sophisticated powder rooms

Cafe curtains can be made:

• Unlined
• Organic cotton light-filtering lined
• Blackout lined

Available headings include:

• Rod Pocket
• Back Tabs
• Hooks Top
• Grommets where suitable for the requested size

To order cafe curtains:

Select the next available standard size larger than your required finished measurements and enter your exact cafe-curtain dimensions in the order details email.

Example:

Cafe curtain size required:
42 inches wide × 30 inches high per panel

Quantity:
Pair

Heading:
Rod Pocket

Lining:
Unlined

Please clearly write “Cafe Curtains” in the order details email so we can make the panels accordingly.

PATTERN PLACEMENT

The exact positioning of the embroidered floral damask pattern may vary according to:

• Curtain width
• Curtain height
• Embroidery repeat
• Heading construction
• Custom measurements
• Position from which the fabric is cut
• Whether a 100-inch-wide panel requires a joining seam

For a pair of curtains, we will position the embroidered pattern as consistently as reasonably possible.

However, exact mirror-image placement of individual motifs cannot always be guaranteed.

The appearance of the embroidery also changes naturally when the curtains are gathered.

Some floral motifs will appear prominently on the front of the folds, while others will move partially into the valleys between folds.

This gives the large-scale embroidery depth and movement after installation.

INTERIOR STYLES

These powder-blue and ivory embroidered linen curtains complement:

• French country interiors
• Traditional interiors
• Transitional interiors
• Classic European decor
• English country interiors
• Elegant cottage interiors
• Coastal-inspired homes
• Grandmillennial decor
• Romantic bedrooms
• Sophisticated nurseries
• Formal living rooms
• Elegant dining rooms
• Traditional home offices
• High-ceiling homes
• Floor-to-ceiling windows

They coordinate particularly well with:

• White and ivory walls
• Pale blue walls
• Blue-grey interiors
• Navy accents
• Cream upholstery
• Beige and greige furniture
• Natural oak furniture
• Walnut furniture
• White-painted furniture
• Brass curtain hardware
• Antique-gold accessories
• Brushed nickel hardware
• Black curtain rods
• Blue-and-white ceramics
• Traditional floral decor
• Neutral rugs
• Linen and boucle upholstery

FRENCH COUNTRY AND CLASSIC DECOR

The scrolling floral embroidery gives these curtains a distinctly elegant traditional character.

The pale blue ground keeps the design fresh and light, while the damask-style embroidery creates a more decorative look than a simple floral curtain.

They work especially well with:

• French-country interiors
• Blue-and-white rooms
• Traditional bedrooms
• Elegant living rooms
• Cottage interiors
• European-inspired homes
• Grandmillennial decor
• Classic dining rooms

The blue-and-ivory colour palette also makes the fabric suitable for coastal interiors where a more refined alternative to nautical patterns is preferred.

LIVING ROOM CURTAINS

For a living room, the organic cotton light-filtering liner is an excellent option where privacy is required while retaining softly diffused daylight.

Choose the blackout liner where stronger light control or additional privacy is preferred.

The large embroidery works particularly well on tall or wide living-room windows because the scale of the design remains visible across the curtain folds.

BEDROOM CURTAINS

For bedrooms, we recommend the blackout-lined option when darkness is important.

The combination of:

• Heavy pure linen
• Embroidery
• Blackout lining

creates a particularly substantial and luxurious finished curtain.

The powder-blue colouring works well in calm bedrooms, guest bedrooms and classic blue-and-white interior schemes.

DINING ROOM CURTAINS

The ornate scrolling embroidery creates an elegant formal appearance suitable for dining rooms.

Choose:

• Unlined for the most natural fabric appearance
• Organic cotton lined for privacy and softened daylight
• Blackout lined for maximum opacity and stronger light control

NURSERY CURTAINS

The powder-blue and ivory palette can also work beautifully in a sophisticated nursery.

Choose the blackout lining where darkness is needed for daytime sleep.

The ornate floral pattern provides a decorative alternative to typical nursery motifs and can continue to work as the room changes over time.
