PENGUIN AND FISH PRINT PURE LINEN ROMAN SHADE
Bring gentle color and playful animal illustrations to your window with this custom-made penguin Roman shade. Crafted from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified printed pure linen, the design combines soft-white fabric, taupe-beige penguins and dusty blue-gray fish for a calm, characterful window treatment.
The penguin-and-fish design coordinates with neutral nursery decor, children’s bedroom schemes and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. Choose an organic cotton light-filtering liner or an OEKO-TEX certified 100% blackout polycotton liner to suit your preferred light control.

COLOR AND PATTERN
The background is soft white to natural off-white. It provides a light, uncluttered setting for the illustrated penguins and scattered fish.
The penguins feature:
• Pale taupe, mushroom beige and warm greige bodies
• Warm medium-brown and cocoa-taupe head markings
• Small charcoal-gray eyes
• Dark slate-gray feet
• Fine charcoal-gray flipper details
• Small pale-white facial accents
Some areas of the taupe bodies have a faint rosy-beige undertone. The overall penguin color remains neutral and softly muted rather than bright pink, orange or traditional black and white.
The fish are dusty blue-gray, with a subtle muted teal undertone. Pale stripes run across their bodies, and small dark dots form their eyes.

The pattern includes upright penguins with rounded bodies and outstretched flippers, side-facing penguins holding fish, and reclining penguins. Small striped fish are scattered between them, facing in different directions.
The illustrations have simplified shapes, softly defined edges and a gentle storybook appearance. Generous white space separates the motifs, keeping the design open and easy to coordinate.
This is a printed penguin-and-fish pattern on pure linen. It is not embroidered, appliquéd or jacquard woven.
The motif placement and number of complete penguins will vary with the finished shade dimensions. Some motifs may be partially cropped at the edges because each shade is individually cut from a continuous fabric repeat.
PURE LINEN FABRIC
The face fabric is pure linen certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
Linen has a naturally textured surface with visible weave, fine slubs and subtle yarn-thickness variations. These details contribute to its character and are normal features of natural linen.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification relates to textile testing for harmful substances. It does not certify the operating mechanism or establish that a corded window covering is child-safe.

OPTION 1: ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner softens incoming daylight while adding body, structure and privacy to the linen shade.
Choose this option when you want daylight to remain part of the room’s atmosphere rather than creating complete darkness.
The finished light-filtering shade can suit living areas, reading spaces and rooms where a softly illuminated window is preferred.
Light filtering is not blackout. The amount of light passing through depends on the face fabric, window direction, sunlight and room conditions. Privacy can also vary with lighting, particularly at night when interior lights are on.
OPTION 2: 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER
The blackout liner is made from:
50% cotton
50% polyester
This OEKO-TEX certified liner is tested for harmful substances and is designed to block light passing through the lined fabric.
Choose blackout lining when stronger room darkening and privacy are required.
“100% blackout” refers to the liner’s light-blocking performance through the fabric. It does not guarantee a completely dark room: light may still enter around the sides, top or bottom of the installed shade.
An outside-recess installation with suitable overlap generally reduces perimeter light more effectively than an inside-recess installation.

HOW TO ORDER
1. Decide whether the shade will be fitted inside or outside the window recess.
2. Measure using the appropriate instructions below.
3. Select the applicable width range.
4. Select the applicable height range.
5. Enter the exact width and height in Personalization, clearly stating inches or centimeters.
6. Enter the installation method: INSIDE RECESS or OUTSIDE RECESS.
7. Enter the liner choice: ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT FILTERING or 100% BLACKOUT POLYCOTTON.
8. Enter your preferred cord side: LEFT or RIGHT, as viewed from inside the room facing the window.
For inside mounting, identify the measurements as recess dimensions. For outside mounting, provide the finished overall shade dimensions, including your chosen overlap.
HOW TO MEASURE: INSIDE RECESS / INSIDE MOUNT
An inside-mounted Roman shade fits within the window opening.
1. Use a rigid metal tape measure.
2. Measure the exact recess width at the top. Do not make any deductions. Measure the exact recess width at the top. Do not make any deductions
3. Measure the exact recess height without making deductions. Record the exact height and note any uneven sill.
4. Measure at the actual depth where the shade will hang. Check for handles, locks, tiles, molding and other obstructions.
5. Check the available recess depth. Contact us with the depth measurement if you are unsure whether the hardware will fit.
6. Enter the exact recess width measured at the top and the exact recess height, with no deductions.
7. Clearly label the order “INSIDE RECESS — RECESS MEASUREMENTS.”
8. Do not make a fitting deduction yourself. The fitting allowance will be handled during preparation of your inside-mount order.
Measure every window individually, even when several windows appear identical. Record dimensions to the nearest 1/8 inch or approximately 0.3 cm.
HOW TO MEASURE: OUTSIDE RECESS / OUTSIDE MOUNT
An outside-mounted Roman shade fits over the wall or frame around the window opening.
1. Measure the width of the area you want to cover.
2. Where space permits, allow approximately 2 inches / 5 cm of overlap on each side. This adds approximately 4 inches / 10 cm to the total width.
3. Check that this overlap will not interfere with adjacent walls, furniture, switches or other fittings.
4. Choose the top mounting position. Approximately 4 inches / 10 cm above the window frame can be a starting point, but the required space depends on the mechanism and how much glass you want exposed when the shade is raised.
5. Measure from the intended top of the shade to the desired bottom finishing point.
6. Include any required coverage below the window opening.
7. Enter the complete finished width and height, including overlap.
8. Clearly label the order “OUTSIDE RECESS — FINISHED SHADE MEASUREMENTS.”
For blackout lining, consider additional overlap where practical to reduce light entering around the edges.

INSTALLATION HARDWARE
Clamps and screws are included for inside- and outside-recess installation.
Different clamps are used for the two installation methods. Use the appropriate clamps for your chosen mounting position and follow the installation instructions.
Check that the supplied screws are suitable for your mounting surface. Masonry, plasterboard, hollow walls and other specialist surfaces may require suitable anchors or alternative fixings.
Mounting clamps and screws are not substitutes for required cord-safety components.

NATURAL VARIATIONS AND CARE
Minor slubs, yarn variations and subtle tonal differences are normal characteristics of pure linen.
Actual colors may differ slightly with screen settings, photography and room lighting. If precise color matching is important, ask about a fabric sample before ordering.
Gently remove dust with a soft brush or a clean upholstery attachment on low suction. Avoid harsh rubbing, bleach and abrasive cleaners.
Do not wash or immerse the assembled shade unless the supplied care instructions expressly permit it. Follow the product’s care instructions and consult a specialist window-treatment cleaner for deeper cleaning.
IMPORTANT CHILD SAFETY
This product has a corded operating system. It is not cordless.
Window-covering cords can cause strangulation. Cordless window coverings are the safest choice in homes where young children live or visit.
The nursery wording describes the decorative theme; it is not a child-safety certification.
Keep cribs, beds, furniture and toys away from windows and cords. Follow all installation instructions and install every required cord-safety device. Do not use the shade if required safety components are missing, damaged or incorrectly fitted.
Fabric certification does not establish compliance of the complete Roman shade with window-covering safety requirements.
