Olive Green, Taupe & Ivory Printed Linen Curtains, Geometric Check Farmhouse Drapes, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering Panels
OLIVE GREEN, TAUPE & IVORY PRINTED PURE LINEN CURTAINS – GEOMETRIC CHECK FARMHOUSE WINDOW DRAPES
Bring bold farmhouse pattern, substantial natural-linen texture and an earthy neutral colour palette to your windows with these custom-made thick and heavy pure linen curtains.
The fabric features a distinctive printed geometric check in muted olive green, deep sage, dark khaki, mushroom taupe, pale blush-beige and soft ivory.
A strong dark olive–sage framework forms large repeating square and rectangular compartments across the linen.
Inside each compartment is a warm taupe or pale blush-beige block, partially overlaid by a smaller ivory square.
This creates a layered arrangement of nested and offset squares rather than a completely conventional two-colour checkerboard.
The overall design combines the familiar character of farmhouse gingham, buffalo check and plaid curtains with a more contemporary geometric block pattern.
It is bold enough to create a clear focal point but remains versatile because every colour is softly muted, earthy and natural.
The design works beautifully in farmhouse, modern farmhouse, rustic, cottage, country, English-country, lodge, cabin, organic-modern, transitional and relaxed contemporary interiors.
DETAILED COLOUR DESCRIPTION
The darkest and most visually dominant colour is a muted olive–sage green.
Depending on the direction and strength of the light, this green may also appear as:
• Dark sage green
• Olive green
• Khaki green
• Moss green
• Grey-green
• Charcoal olive
• Forest khaki
• Muted army green
• Deep eucalyptus green
• Weathered green-grey
This is not a vivid emerald, bright grass green or blue-toned teal.
It is an earthy, desaturated green with grey and brown undertones.
The softer supporting blocks include:
• Mushroom taupe
• Pale blush-beige
• Dusty pink-beige
• Warm stone
• Natural oatmeal
• Light mushroom
• Soft greige
• Muted putty
• Creamy ivory
• Natural off-white
The pale blush tone is subtle and neutral rather than bright pink.
It reads as a warm dusty beige with a faint rosy undertone.
The smallest light blocks are soft ivory or natural off-white rather than a harsh optical white.
The complete colour impression is:
OLIVE–SAGE GREEN + DARK KHAKI + MUSHROOM TAUPE + PALE BLUSH-BEIGE + IVORY
The combination creates a balanced palette that coordinates especially well with warm white, cream, beige, taupe, natural flax, dark wood, walnut, oak, rattan, leather, terracotta, antique brass and matte-black furnishings.
GEOMETRIC CHECK, PLAID AND FARMHOUSE PATTERN
The fabric has a structured repeating geometric print.
Wide dark green horizontal and vertical bands intersect to create a large windowpane-style grid.
Within each open section of the grid is a warm taupe-beige square.
A smaller ivory block overlaps the lower-right area of each taupe square, producing a distinctive stepped or nested-square effect.
The design can be described using several relevant decorative terms:
• Geometric check
• Windowpane check
• Layered square print
• Nested-square pattern
• Offset block design
• Modern farmhouse plaid
• Large-scale gingham-inspired check
• Buffalo-check-inspired pattern
• Repeating geometric grid
• Retro block print
• Mid-century geometric check
• Country farmhouse check
Although the pattern has visual connections to gingham, plaid and buffalo check, it is not a basic two-colour buffalo check.
The smaller offset ivory squares give it a more unusual, graphic and contemporary identity.
This makes the curtains suitable for buyers who like traditional farmhouse checks but want something more distinctive than an ordinary checkerboard.
PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED PURE LINEN
The complete design is professionally printed onto the pure linen face fabric.
It is not embroidered, appliquéd or woven as a traditional yarn-dyed check.
The print sits directly on the linen surface while allowing the natural woven texture of the underlying cloth to remain visible.
Close inspection may reveal authentic linen characteristics such as:
• Natural fibres
• Fine woven grain
• Small linen slubs
• Slight yarn-thickness changes
• Subtle surface variation
• Minor irregularities within the weave
• Gentle variations in the printed colour over raised fibres
These characteristics give the curtains depth and prevent the geometric design from appearing flat or synthetic.
They are normal qualities of genuine pure linen and should not be considered faults.
THICK AND HEAVY FABRIC
The pure linen face fabric has a supplied weight of 403 grams per linear metre at 54 inches wide.
At a fabric width of 54 inches, or approximately 1.3716 metres, this converts to approximately:
294 GSM
GSM means grams per square metre and provides a standardised measurement of fabric weight.
At approximately 294 GSM, this is a thick and substantial decorative linen rather than a lightweight linen voile.
The fabric has enough weight to form attractive folds and create a luxurious, structured drape while retaining the organic surface character associated with genuine linen.
Despite its substantial weight, the unlined fabric can still become semi-sheer when strong daylight shines directly through the linen weave.
SOLD AS A SINGLE PANEL OR A PAIR
These curtains are available as:
• One single curtain panel
• One pair or set of two curtain panels
Please select your required option carefully.
All width and height measurements in the size menu refer to EACH INDIVIDUAL CURTAIN PANEL, not the combined dimensions of a pair.
For example:
• A single 50-inch-wide curtain contains one panel measuring 50 inches wide
• A pair of 50-inch-wide curtains contains two panels, each measuring 50 inches wide
• The pair therefore provides a combined flat fabric width of 100 inches
The stated width is the flat fabric width before the curtain is gathered or arranged into folds on the rod or track.
For a fuller appearance, the total flat width of your curtain or curtains should normally be greater than the width of the rod, track or opening being covered.
STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS
Available standard widths per individual curtain panel are:
• 50 inches wide – approximately 127 cm
• 100 inches wide – approximately 254 cm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
The face fabric is approximately 54 inches wide.
A finished 100-inch-wide curtain cannot be cut from one continuous piece of this fabric.
Each 100-inch-wide curtain will therefore be constructed by carefully joining two approximately 50-inch fabric widths.
This creates one vertical joining seam in the curtain.
We carefully align the printed geometric pattern wherever the fabric repeat allows and finish the join as discreetly as possible.
Once the curtain is installed and arranged into natural vertical folds, the central seam is generally barely visible.
Please purchase the 100-inch width only if you are comfortable with this necessary construction detail.
If you order a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains, each curtain will contain its own joining seam.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
Standard finished curtain heights are available from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
• 36 inches – approximately 91 cm
• 48 inches – approximately 122 cm
• 60 inches – approximately 152 cm
• 72 inches – approximately 183 cm
• 84 inches – approximately 213 cm
• 96 inches – approximately 244 cm
• 108 inches – approximately 274 cm
• 120 inches – approximately 305 cm
• 132 inches – approximately 335 cm
• 144 inches – approximately 366 cm
• 156 inches – approximately 396 cm
• 168 inches – approximately 427 cm
• 180 inches – approximately 457 cm
These options accommodate standard windows as well as French doors, patio doors, tall windows, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling installations.
CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES
Custom widths and heights can also be made.
If your exact required measurement does not appear in the size menu:
1. Select the next larger available size.
2. Enter the exact required finished width and height in the order details email.
3. Specify whether the measurement is for each curtain or the complete pair.
4. Select or state the required heading style.
5. Select or state the required lining option.
6. Include any other essential instructions.
Always select a listed size that is equal to or larger than the custom finished measurements you require.
Please do not select a smaller size than your requested custom dimensions.
Example:
If you require each curtain to measure 43 inches wide × 79 inches high, select the next larger available option and write:
“Please make each curtain exactly 43 inches wide × 79 inches high. Pair of two. Hooks Top. Organic cotton liner.”
FOUR AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
These curtains can be made with any of the following four headings:
1. HOOKS TOP
Curtain heading tape is sewn across the back of the panel and curtain hooks are included.
Hooks Top is compatible with:
• Curtain tracks
• Bay-window tracks
• Ceiling-mounted tracks
• Curtain rods used with rings
• Many traverse and rail systems
For a rod installation, the hooks attach to curtain rings.
For a track installation, the hooks attach to the runners or gliders in the track.
2. BACK TABS
Hidden fabric tabs are sewn across the back of the curtain.
The curtain rod passes through the concealed tabs, creating a clean appearance from the front and soft, organised folds.
Back Tabs are intended for use with a curtain rod rather than a standard track.
3. ROD POCKET
A continuous pocket is sewn across the top of the curtain.
The rod slides directly through this pocket, producing a softly gathered, relaxed farmhouse appearance.
The standard rod pocket comfortably accommodates a curtain rod up to approximately 1.25 inches in diameter.
If your rod is thicker, please provide its exact diameter in the order details email.
A decorative top ruffle is not included unless specifically requested.
4. GROMMETS
Grommets or eyelets are installed across the top of the curtain.
The curtain rod passes directly through the grommets, creating regular vertical folds and easy movement along the rod.
Grommet curtains are intended for rods rather than conventional tracks.
Please contact us before ordering if you require a particular grommet colour.

LINING OPTIONS
1. UNLINED – SEMI-SHEER LIGHT-FILTERING
The unlined curtain retains the most natural, relaxed linen appearance.
Although the linen is thick and heavy, daylight can pass through the spaces in the natural weave, making the curtain semi-sheer when positioned directly in front of a bright window.
The printed geometric pattern remains clearly visible while sunlight is softly filtered through the cloth.
Choose unlined curtains if you want:
• Softly diffused daylight
• An airy natural-linen appearance
• Gentle daytime privacy
• Visible linen texture
• A relaxed farmhouse look
• Natural movement and drape
Privacy will depend on the direction and intensity of the light.
At night, when the room is illuminated from inside, silhouettes or interior details may be visible from outside.
A liner is recommended if complete opacity or stronger night-time privacy is required.
2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner adds privacy, opacity, body and a neatly finished reverse side while still allowing softly filtered daylight into the room.
Choose the organic cotton liner if you want:
• Completely opaque curtains
• Increased daytime and night-time privacy
• Soft natural light rather than darkness
• Reduced visibility of silhouettes
• Additional body and structure
• A softly illuminated room
This option works especially well in living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, family rooms, home offices, guest rooms and bedrooms where total darkness is unnecessary.
3. 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER
For maximum darkness and privacy, select the 100% blackout liner.
The blackout lining is made from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton comprising:
• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester
The blackout material blocks light transmission through the curtain completely.
It is the most suitable option for:
• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Night-shift sleepers
• Rooms affected by street lighting
• Windows receiving intense early-morning sunlight
• Spaces requiring maximum privacy
Although the liner blocks light through the curtain material, a small amount of light may still enter around the top, bottom, sides or centre of the installation.
For the darkest result, use generous curtain width and extend the panels beyond the complete window opening.
CAFÉ CURTAINS AVAILABLE
We can also make custom linen café curtains from this same printed farmhouse fabric.
Café curtains, kitchen curtains, tier curtains and half-window curtains are ideal when you want privacy across the lower portion of a window while allowing natural light to enter above.
They are particularly suitable for:
• Farmhouse kitchens
• Breakfast nooks
• Kitchen sinks
• Pantry windows
• Bathrooms
• Utility rooms
• Laundry rooms
• Small cottage windows
• Cabinet openings
• Under-counter storage
• Glass-panel doors
• Informal dining areas
For custom café curtains, select the next larger available size and enter the exact finished measurements, heading style and lining option in the order details email.
Rod Pocket and Hooks Top are especially practical heading choices for short café curtains, depending on your rod or track.
FARMHOUSE AND COUNTRY STYLING
The printed check design works beautifully in:
• Modern farmhouse interiors
• Traditional farmhouse homes
• Rustic country rooms
• Cottagecore interiors
• English-country homes
• French-country-inspired spaces
• Cabins and lodges
• Country kitchens
• Organic-modern interiors
• Transitional homes
• Vintage-inspired rooms
• Retro-modern interiors
• Relaxed contemporary spaces
• Neutral nurseries
• Children’s bedrooms
The strong geometric grid introduces order and structure, while the muted olive, taupe and ivory palette keeps the curtains warm and approachable.
Unlike a high-contrast black-and-white buffalo check, these curtains have an earthy, softened appearance that is easier to coordinate with natural furnishings.
ROOMS AND WINDOW TYPES
These custom curtain panels can be used in:
• Living rooms
• Bedrooms
• Dining rooms
• Kitchens
• Breakfast rooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Guest bedrooms
• Home offices
• Bathrooms
• Laundry rooms
• Cabins
• Farmhouses
• French doors
• Patio doors
• Bay windows
• Tall architectural windows
• Floor-to-ceiling windows
• High-ceiling rooms
PATTERN PLACEMENT
Because the curtains are individually made from a continuously printed fabric roll, the exact starting point of the pattern may vary between orders and sizes.
The placement of the olive grid, taupe blocks and ivory inset squares may therefore differ slightly from the listing photographs.
For pairs, we align and coordinate the pattern across the two panels wherever the dimensions and fabric repeat allow.
For extra-wide 100-inch curtains, we also align the design at the joining seam as carefully as the fabric repeat permits.
IMPORTANT NATURAL-LINEN CHARACTERISTICS
Pure linen naturally contains small irregularities that contribute to its distinctive appearance.
These may include:
• Linen slubs
• Tiny knots
• Minor yarn-thickness variations
• Subtle woven lines
• Natural fibre variation
• Slight differences in surface texture
• Small variations between fabric batches
These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and are not manufacturing defects.
COLOUR DISCLAIMER
Colours can appear different according to daylight, artificial lighting, surrounding furnishings, camera exposure and individual screen settings.
The darkest sections may look more olive green in warm daylight, deeper khaki in low light, or slightly grey-green under cooler artificial lighting.
The secondary blocks may appear mushroom taupe, dusty blush-beige or warm greige depending on the surrounding colour temperature.
The lightest blocks are soft ivory rather than brilliant white.
