OPTION 1 – ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER

Choose the organic cotton light-filtering liner if you would like additional privacy and structure while retaining soft natural daylight.

The organic cotton liner gently filters incoming daylight instead of creating complete darkness and also makes the Roman shade more opaque and substantial.

The blackout liner prevents light from passing directly through the Roman shade fabric and provides excellent privacy.

Please note:

The blackout liner blocks light through the fabric itself.

With an inside-recess installation, a small amount of light may still enter around the outer edges because fitting clearance is required between the Roman shade and the window recess.

For stronger overall room darkening, an outside-recess installation with sufficient overlap around the window is generally preferable.

HOW TO MEASURE – INSIDE RECESS / INSIDE MOUNT

An inside-recess Roman shade is installed within the window opening for a clean and streamlined finish.

1. Measure the exact internal width of the window recess at the top where the Roman shade will be installed.

2. Measure the exact internal height of the recess.

3. Use a rigid metal measuring tape wherever possible for the most accurate measurements.

4. Enter the exact recess width and exact recess height in the order details email.

5. Clearly write:

INSIDE RECESS

Please provide the actual recess measurements without making your own deductions unless specifically discussed with us beforehand.

HOW TO MEASURE – OUTSIDE RECESS / OUTSIDE MOUNT

An outside-recess Roman shade is installed over and around the window opening rather than inside the recess.

For good window coverage, we recommend approximately:

2 inches / 5 cm additional coverage on the LEFT side

2 inches / 5 cm additional coverage on the RIGHT side

This means adding approximately:

4 inches / 10 cm to the overall width of the window opening.

For the height:

Measure from approximately 4 inches / 10 cm above the top of the window frame down to the point where you would like the Roman shade to finish.

Outside-recess installation provides greater overlap around the window and can help reduce light entering around the sides when the blackout liner is selected.
