Light Blue Velvet Nursery Curtains, Whimsical Pencil Print, Custom Kids Room Drapes, Blackout Lining Option
Add a playful finishing touch to your child’s room with these light blue velvet nursery curtains, featuring an imaginative print of looping, swirling pencils. Made from thick, heavy matte velvet, these custom kids room curtains combine a gentle pastel palette with a distinctive illustrated design.
Choose a single curtain panel or a pair, select your preferred heading, and finish your curtains with organic cotton light-filtering lining, 100% blackout lining or no lining.
COLOURS AND PENCIL PATTERN
The fabric has a very light sky-blue base with a soft, muted powder-blue appearance. Cream and ivory pencils curve across the surface in loose loops, waves and squiggles, creating a whimsical all-over pattern.
Fine pale beige lines define the pencil bodies, while muted sage-taupe areas and dusty mauve-lilac tips and bands add subtle contrast. The palette is soft and understated, making the design easy to coordinate with white furniture, natural wood, pastel bedding and simple nursery accessories.
From a distance, the winding shapes create an abstract wave effect. Up close, the pencil details give the curtains their playful, creative character.
These printed velvet curtains suit a baby nursery, toddler bedroom, kids room, playroom, reading nook or home learning space. Their drawing-inspired design works particularly well with art-themed decor and modern pastel interiors.
THICK MATTE VELVET
The velvet face fabric has a soft surface, a substantial feel and a matte appearance that lets the illustrated pattern stand out.
Fabric weight: approximately 294 gsm before lining.
The weight gives the panels body and helps them fall into soft folds. Adding a liner provides further substance, with the level of light control depending on the option selected.
CHOOSE YOUR LINING
UNLINED
The unlined option offers a semi-sheer, light-filtering privacy effect while retaining the natural drape of the face fabric. Some daylight passes through, and the curtains are not blackout. Privacy depends on the difference between indoor and outdoor lighting.
ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINING
An organic cotton liner adds extra privacy and makes the curtains opaque while allowing softly diffused daylight through. This is a good choice for a playroom or bedroom where you want privacy without full blackout.
100% BLACKOUT LINING
Choose the OEKO-TEX certified polycotton blackout liner for maximum light control. The lining blocks light passing through the lined curtain fabric, helping create a darkened room for daytime naps and bedtime.
The blackout liner is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester. To achieve the darkest result, allow sufficient coverage around the window, as light may still enter around the curtain edges depending on the installation.
Please mention your lining choice in the order details email: unlined, cotton or blackout.
SINGLE PANEL OR PAIR
Available to purchase as:
• Single panel: one curtain panel.
• Pair / set of 2: two curtain panels.
The selected dimensions refer to each individual panel.
For example:
• A pair of 50-inch-wide curtains includes two panels, each 50 inches wide.
• A pair of 100-inch-wide curtains includes two panels, each 100 inches wide.
Panel widths are measured flat before gathering. Allow additional width if you would like fuller folds when the curtains are closed.
STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS
• 50 inches wide per panel — 127 cm
• 100 inches wide per panel — 254 cm
PLEASE NOTE FOR 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
Each 100-inch-wide curtain panel is made by joining two 50-inch panels. There will be a vertical seam in the middle, which is barely visible once the curtains are installed and arranged into folds.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
Choose from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
• 36 inches — 91.44 cm
• 48 inches — 121.92 cm
• 60 inches — 152.40 cm
• 72 inches — 182.88 cm
• 84 inches — 213.36 cm

• 168 inches — 426.72 cm
• 180 inches — 457.20 cm
Whether you need short window panels, floor-length bedroom curtains or extra-long drapes for a tall window, you can choose a standard size or request a custom finish.
FOUR HEADING STYLES
HOOKS TOP
Woven heading tape is sewn across the back of the curtain top for use with hooks. Compatible with curtain rods using suitable rings and curtain tracks using suitable gliders.
BACK TABS
Concealed tabs on the back slide over the curtain rod, creating a clean front with softly formed folds.
ROD POCKETS
The curtain rod slides through a sewn pocket at the top, giving the panels a softly gathered appearance.
GROMMETS
Metal eyelets slide over the curtain rod for a contemporary finish with defined folds.
Please write your required heading style in the order details email: hooks top, back tabs, rod pockets or grommets.
CUSTOM SIZES
These curtains can be made to your exact required measurements.
To order a custom size:
1. Decide the finished width and height required for EACH panel.
2. Select the next available size up, ensuring that both the purchased width and height cover your required measurements.
3. Write the exact finished width × height in the order details email.
4. Specify inches or centimetres.
5. Add your heading style and lining choice.
Example:
If you need each panel to measure 47 inches wide × 90 inches high, select 50 × 96 inches and enter:
“Finished size 47 W × 90 H inches per panel.”
For a pair, please state the size of each panel rather than only the combined width.
MEASURING YOUR WINDOW
Measure the width of your curtain rod or track and consider how much gathering you would like. The total flat width of your curtains should allow enough fabric for folds when closed.
Measure the finished height from the appropriate hanging point for your chosen heading to where you would like the curtains to end.
Hooks top, back tabs, rod pockets and grommets sit differently on the hardware, so account for your chosen heading when specifying the finished length.
For blackout-lined curtains, allow coverage beyond the window edges to help reduce light entering around the sides.
CAFE CURTAINS AND SHORT WINDOW PANELS
We can also make cafe curtains using this same light blue pencil-print velvet.
Custom cafe curtains are a playful option for smaller windows, breakfast nooks and creative family spaces. A half-window design covers the lower section while leaving the upper part open to daylight.
Please provide the finished width and height, number of panels, heading style and lining choice. For a cafe curtain shorter than the listed standard sizes, message us for help selecting the correct order option.
HOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER
1. Choose a single panel or a pair / set of 2.
2. Select the appropriate width and height.
3. Choose your lining option.
4. Enter your preferred heading and lining in the order details email.
5. If requesting a custom size, include the exact finished dimensions for each panel.
PERSONALISATION EXAMPLE
Pair / set of 2
Finished size of each panel: 47 W × 90 H inches
Heading: back tabs
Lining: blackout
PLEASE NOTE
Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings and the lighting in your room. The velvet surface can also look subtly lighter or darker as the pile catches the light.
Pattern placement varies with the panel dimensions and where the fabric is cut.
Only the blackout-lined option blocks light through the fabric completely. Unlined and organic cotton-lined options provide different levels of light filtering and privacy.
With their pale blue background, cream pencil illustrations and soft velvet finish, these made-to-measure curtains bring playful detail to a child’s space while allowing you to choose the size, heading and lining that work for your window.
