Light Blue Seahorse Velvet Curtains, Ocean Nursery & Kids Room Drapes, Custom Sizes, Optional Blackout Lining
Create a gentle underwater setting with these light blue seahorse velvet curtains, designed for an ocean nursery, kids bedroom or coastal playroom. Pastel seahorses, delicate seaweed and scattered cream bubbles bring playful detail to the window, while the thick, heavy matte velvet adds softness and substance.
Choose a single curtain panel or a pair, customise the dimensions, and select unlined, organic cotton light-filtering or 100% blackout lining to suit your room.
COLOURS AND UNDERWATER PATTERN
The fabric has a very light sky-blue background with a soft, muted pastel appearance. Illustrated seahorses feature curled tails and decorative markings in sage green, seafoam, muted aqua, dusty blue, taupe and soft mauve-lilac.
Cream and ivory accents, small touches of pale peach, and darker grey-mauve details give each seahorse its own character. Fine grey-green seaweed fronds rise between the figures, while scattered cream dots suggest little underwater bubbles.
The overall look is gentle and whimsical, with a softly coloured sea-life print that complements an under-the-sea nursery, a seaside-inspired bedroom or a playful coastal interior.
Pair these curtains with white furniture, natural wood, pale sage accessories or blue bedding for a coordinated room. The pastel palette works beautifully in boys’ rooms, girls’ rooms and shared children’s spaces.
FABRIC AND DRAPE
Made from thick, heavy velvet with a soft matte surface, these curtains have a substantial feel and fall into soft folds.
Face fabric weight: approximately 294 gsm, excluding lining.
The printed design provides the decorative detail, while the velvet adds texture and body. Its surface may appear subtly lighter or darker as the pile catches the light.
LINING OPTIONS
UNLINED
The unlined curtains provide a semi-sheer, light-filtering privacy effect without an additional backing fabric. Some daylight passes through, keeping the room softly illuminated.
This option is not blackout. Privacy varies with the lighting inside and outside the room.
ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINING
An organic cotton liner adds extra privacy and makes the curtain opaque while allowing softly diffused daylight through.
Choose cotton lining for a lined finish in a nursery, bedroom or playroom where you want privacy without full blackout.
100% BLACKOUT LINING
The OEKO-TEX certified polycotton blackout liner blocks light passing through the lined curtain fabric, making this option suitable for bedrooms and nurseries where a darker room is preferred.
The blackout liner contains 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
For the darkest result, allow enough curtain coverage around the window. Light can still enter around the top, sides or bottom depending on the curtain placement and installation.
Please include your liner choice in the order details email: unlined, cotton or blackout.
SINGLE PANEL OR PAIR
Choose the option that suits your window:
• Single panel — one curtain panel.
• Pair / set of 2 — two curtain panels.
The selected width and height apply to EACH panel.
Examples:
• A pair of 50-inch-wide panels gives 100 inches of combined flat fabric width.
• A pair of 100-inch-wide panels gives 200 inches of combined flat fabric width.
Widths are measured flat before gathering. Allow additional fabric width for folds and fullness when the curtains are closed.
STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS
• 50 inches / 127 cm per panel
• 100 inches / 254 cm per panel
IMPORTANT: 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
Each 100-inch-wide curtain panel is made by joining two 50-inch panels. There will be a vertical seam in the middle, which is barely visible once the curtains are installed and arranged into folds.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
Available from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
• 36 inches / 91.44 cm
• 48 inches / 121.92 cm
• 60 inches / 152.40 cm
• 72 inches / 182.88 cm
• 84 inches / 213.36 cm
• 96 inches / 243.84 cm
• 108 inches / 274.32 cm
• 120 inches / 304.80 cm
• 132 inches / 335.28 cm
• 144 inches / 365.76 cm
• 156 inches / 396.24 cm
• 168 inches / 426.72 cm
• 180 inches / 457.20 cm
Choose short window curtains, floor-length panels or extra-long drapes according to your window and preferred finish.
FOUR HEADING STYLES
HOOKS TOP
Woven heading tape is sewn across the back of the curtain top for use with hooks. Compatible with curtain rods using suitable rings and curtain tracks using suitable gliders.
BACK TABS
Concealed tabs on the back slide over the curtain rod, creating a clean front and softly formed folds.
ROD POCKETS
The curtain rod passes through a sewn pocket at the top, creating a softly gathered finish.
GROMMETS
Metal eyelets slide over the curtain rod, giving the curtains a contemporary appearance with defined folds.
Please mention your required heading style in the order details email: hooks top, back tabs, rod pockets or grommets.
CUSTOM SIZES
We can make these seahorse curtains to your exact required dimensions.
To order a custom size:
1. Measure the finished width and height needed for EACH panel.
2. Select the next available size up, ensuring both the purchased width and height cover your requested dimensions.
3. Enter the exact finished width × height in the order details email.
4. Specify whether your measurements are in inches or centimetres.
5. Include your heading style and lining choice.
Example:
For a finished panel measuring 47 inches wide × 90 inches high, select 50 × 96 inches and request a finished size of 47 × 90 inches per panel.
If ordering a pair, clearly state the dimensions of each panel rather than only the combined width.
MEASURING FOR YOUR CURTAINS
Measure the width of the curtain rod or track and decide how much gathering you would like. Allow sufficient combined panel width to create folds when the curtains are drawn.
Measure the finished drop from the appropriate hanging point for your chosen heading to where you want the curtain to end.
Hooks top, back tabs, rod pockets and grommets sit differently on the hardware. Account for the chosen heading when specifying your finished height.
For blackout-lined curtains, plan sufficient coverage beyond the window edges to help reduce light entering around the sides.
CAFE CURTAINS AND SHORT PANELS
We can also make cafe curtains in this same pastel seahorse velvet fabric.
Custom cafe curtains are a lovely option for smaller windows, coastal kitchens, breakfast nooks and seaside-inspired family spaces. A half-window style covers the lower part of the window while leaving the upper section open to daylight.
Please provide your finished width and height, panel quantity, heading style and lining choice. For cafe lengths below the standard size range, message us for help selecting the appropriate order option.

PLEASE NOTE
Colours may vary slightly with screen settings and room lighting. The velvet pile can also change the apparent depth of colour when viewed from different angles.
Pattern placement varies according to panel dimensions and where the fabric is cut.
Blackout performance applies only to the blackout-lined option. Unlined and cotton-lined curtains provide different levels of light filtering and privacy.
