IVORY AND TAUPE PAISLEY PURE LINEN ROMAN SHADE – BOTANICAL BIRD PRINT CUSTOM WINDOW BLIND

Bring timeless botanical pattern, warm neutral colour and luxurious natural texture to your windows with this custom-made pure linen Roman shade.

The thick, heavyweight linen fabric features an intricate all-over paisley design printed in warm taupe, mushroom beige and soft brown across a natural ivory and creamy off-white background. Large curling paisley forms are surrounded by stylised leaves, delicate flowers, scrolling vines, feather-like details and graceful decorative birds.

The close-set botanical elements create a richly detailed heritage pattern while the restrained ivory and taupe palette keeps the overall appearance calm, sophisticated and easy to coordinate. The fabric has influences of traditional Indian textile art, Jacobean florals, vintage paisley, botanical block prints and relaxed bohemian interiors.

This neutral printed Roman blind works beautifully in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, home offices, reading rooms, guest rooms and nurseries. It is equally suited to bohemian, traditional, transitional, organic-modern, farmhouse, vintage-inspired and globally influenced interiors.

Each corded Roman shade is individually made to the exact measurements entered by the customer.

COLOUR DESCRIPTION

The principal background colour is a warm natural ivory rather than a bright optical white.

The printed design contains a layered neutral palette of:

• Warm taupe
• Mushroom beige
• Soft brown
• Natural flax
• Putty
• Stone beige
• Light mocha
• Muted greige

The ivory linen ground has a visible natural weave with softly varied cream and oatmeal fibres. The printed motifs appear warm taupe or mushroom brown, depending on the lighting and the surrounding colours in the room.

The design is monochromatic and understated rather than strongly contrasting. This allows the detailed paisley pattern to remain distinctive without overwhelming the surrounding décor.

The fabric pairs beautifully with:

• Warm white and cream walls
• Beige, oatmeal and taupe upholstery
• Natural oak and walnut furniture
• Antique brass and bronze finishes
• Rattan, cane and woven accessories
• Jute and natural-fibre rugs
• Olive, sage and moss-green accents
• Chocolate brown and charcoal details
• Terracotta and muted rust accessories
• Traditional and vintage wooden furniture

PAISLEY, BOTANICAL AND BIRD PATTERN

The fabric features an elaborate, closely arranged pattern composed of:

• Large curling paisley motifs
• Decorative floral centres
• Scrolling botanical vines
• Stylised leaves and fronds
• Feather-like borders
• Small ornamental flowers
• Graceful decorative birds
• Fine hand-drawn-style linework

Several birds are incorporated naturally among the vines and paisley forms. Some have long curved necks and decorative plumage, while others resemble smaller folk-art garden birds surrounded by leaves and flowers.

The pattern has the organic irregularity and artistic character associated with traditional hand-drawn or block-print-inspired textiles. Its flowing shapes create movement across the fabric, while the limited neutral palette gives the completed blind an elegant and versatile appearance.

The print may be described as:

• Botanical paisley
• Floral paisley
• Bird and vine print
• Indian-inspired botanical
• Jacobean-style floral
• Bohemian folk pattern
• Neutral heritage print
• Traditional ornamental textile

THICK PURE LINEN FACE FABRIC

The face fabric is made from thick, heavy pure linen with a substantial designer-quality feel.

The natural weight and body of the material allow the finished Roman shade to form attractive horizontal folds when raised and create a polished, tailored surface when fully lowered.

Unlike lightweight imitation-linen fabrics, pure linen has a distinctive woven texture and tactile appearance. The weave remains subtly visible beneath the printed design, giving the shade depth and natural character.

The linen is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

This custom window treatment is ideal for customers searching for:

• Ivory linen Roman shades
• Taupe Roman blinds
• Paisley window treatments
• Floral Roman shades
• Botanical window blinds
• Bird-print Roman shades
• Boho Roman blinds
• Traditional linen shades
• Custom blackout blinds
• Light-filtering Roman shades
• Neutral window treatments
• Made-to-measure blinds
• Custom-size window coverings

LINING OPTIONS

Please enter your required liner choice in the Etsy order details email.

OPTION 1: ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER

The organic cotton liner gently filters incoming daylight while allowing the room to remain naturally illuminated.

This option is suitable when you would like:

• Softly filtered natural light
• Reduced glare from direct sunlight
• Additional privacy
• A bright and comfortable daytime atmosphere
• A neat, completely lined reverse
• Protection for the back of the printed linen
• A natural organic cotton lining
• Gentle rather than complete light control

The organic cotton lining is light filtering and is not a blackout material. Daylight will continue to pass softly through the completed Roman blind, particularly when the window receives strong direct sunlight.

The amount of visible light will depend on:

• The direction of the window
• The strength of the sunlight
• The time of day
• The installation method
• Exterior lighting
• Interior lighting

The cotton liner provides extra opacity and privacy, but nighttime silhouettes may still be affected by strong lighting inside the room.

OPTION 2: 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER

The blackout liner is made from non-toxic OEKO-TEX certified polycotton containing:

• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester

This liner is designed to block light from passing through the fabric itself.

The blackout option is recommended for:

• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Guest bedrooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Shift workers
• Light-sensitive sleepers
• Rooms receiving strong sunlight
• Rooms requiring increased privacy
• Spaces where stronger light control is preferred

The blackout liner also adds additional body and structure to the completed blind.

IMPORTANT BLACKOUT INFORMATION

“100% blackout” describes the light-blocking performance of the liner fabric itself.

A Roman blind does not form a sealed enclosure around the complete window opening. A small amount of light may therefore remain visible around the sides, top or bottom, particularly when the blind is fitted inside the recess.

For stronger overall room darkening, an outside-recess installation with sufficient overlap beyond the window opening is recommended.

HOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER

The width and height menus contain pricing ranges rather than individual finished measurements.

Please follow these steps:

1. Measure your window carefully using the instructions below.

2. Select the width range containing your required exact width.

3. Select the height range containing your required exact height.

4. Enter all of the following information in the Etsy order details email:

For example:

A required width of 30.25 inches must be purchased through the 31–36-inch option rather than the 25–30-inch option.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN INSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An inside-recess Roman blind is fitted within the window opening.

This installation creates a clean and integrated appearance while leaving the surrounding wall and decorative window trim visible.

Before measuring, make sure the recess has sufficient depth for the blind and its mounting hardware.

Check carefully for:

• Window handles
• Locks
• Opening windows
• Projecting trim
• Decorative mouldings
• Tiles
• Vents
• Other obstructions

STEP 1: MEASURE THE RECESS WIDTH

Measure the exact internal width of the recess in three places:

• Across the top
• Across the middle
• Across the bottom

Use the smallest of the three measurements.

Enter this exact inside-recess width without making any deduction yourself. The necessary manufacturing allowance will be applied during production.

STEP 2: MEASURE THE RECESS HEIGHT

Measure the exact internal height in three places:

• On the left
• In the centre
• On the right

Enter the exact inside-recess height. Measure carefully from the upper mounting area to the bottom of the recess.

STEP 3: CHECK THE RECESS DEPTH

Confirm that sufficient unobstructed depth is available for the mounting clamps, upper mechanism and folded fabric.

Pay particular attention to handles, locks and other projections that could interfere with the blind while it is being raised or lowered.

STEP 4: CONFIRM THE INSTALLATION TYPE

Clearly enter:

Installation: Inside recess

Inside-recess and outside-recess installations require different mounting clamps, so the fitting method must be stated correctly.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN OUTSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An outside-recess Roman blind is fitted to the wall or decorative trim above and around the window opening.

This installation method can:

• Make the window appear larger
• Cover an uneven or shallow recess
• Avoid obstructions within the recess
• Increase privacy around the sides
• Reduce light entering around the edges
• Provide greater overall window coverage

STEP 1: MEASURE THE REQUIRED FINISHED WIDTH

Measure the complete width you want the finished blind to cover.

For proper coverage, the finished width should be at least 4 inches or approximately 10 cm wider than the window opening, wherever sufficient wall space is available.

This normally provides approximately:

• 2 inches / 5 cm overlap on the left
• 2 inches / 5 cm overlap on the right

A larger overlap may be selected when stronger privacy or room darkening is required.

Enter the complete finished width, including the required overlap. Do not enter only the glass or window-opening width unless that is the exact coverage you require.

STEP 2: CHOOSE THE TOP INSTALLATION POSITION

Decide exactly where the upper mechanism will be installed above the window.

Check that:

• The mounting surface is suitable
• There is enough space above the opening
• The blind will not interfere with the ceiling
• The raised folds will not conflict with a curtain pole
• The installation surface can safely support the blind
• The blind will clear projecting handles and trim

STEP 3: MEASURE THE REQUIRED FINISHED HEIGHT

Measure from the exact point where the blind will be installed down to the point where you want the blind to end when fully lowered.

This complete measurement is the required finished height.

Do not enter only the height of the glass or window opening unless that is the exact coverage required.

STEP 4: CONFIRM THE INSTALLATION TYPE

Clearly enter:

Installation: Outside recess

The correct outside-mount clamps will then be included with the order.

IMPORTANT MEASURING ADVICE

• Use a rigid metal tape measure rather than a soft fabric tape.
• Measure every window individually, even when the windows appear identical.
• Take each measurement at least twice.
• State clearly whether the measurements are in inches or centimetres.
• Always enter width first and height second.
• Do not make your own width deduction for an inside-recess blind.
• For an outside mount, enter the complete finished coverage required.
• Keep the outside-mount width at least 4 inches or 10 cm wider than the window where possible.
• Check carefully for handles, locks and other obstructions.
• Do not rely only on architectural plans or the dimensions of an existing blind.
• Review every measurement carefully before placing the order.

INSTALLATION HARDWARE INCLUDED

Installation hardware is supplied with the completed Roman blind.

Depending on the installation type entered in the order details email, the package will contain:

• Inside-recess mounting clamps, or
• Outside-recess mounting clamps
• Installation screws

Inside and outside installations use different clamps. It is therefore essential to provide the correct installation method when placing the order.

The suitability of the included screws may depend on the construction of the mounting surface.

Brick, concrete, plasterboard, tile, stone, timber and other materials may require different wall plugs, anchors or specialised fixings obtained locally.

When uncertain about the mounting surface or installation method, please consult a competent local installer.

CORDED ROMAN BLIND OPERATION

This is a functional cord-operated Roman blind.

The operating cord allows the blind to be raised into neat horizontal folds and lowered across the window. When fully lowered, the detailed paisley, botanical and bird pattern is displayed across the front.

An optional cord-side preference may be entered in the order details email.

Operating cords must always be secured and kept completely out of reach of babies, young children and pets. The blind should be installed and operated according to the window-covering safety requirements applicable in the destination country.

PATTERN PLACEMENT

Every Roman blind is individually cut according to the exact dimensions supplied by the customer.

The position of the paisley forms, flowers, leaves and birds will vary according to:

• The ordered width
• The ordered height
• The natural pattern repeat
• The position from which the linen is cut

The placement of individual motifs may therefore differ from the listing photographs. This is a normal characteristic of a custom-made product created from large-scale patterned fabric.

The number of complete paisley and bird motifs visible on the finished blind will depend on its exact dimensions.

When several blinds are ordered together, every reasonable effort will be made to create a visually coordinated appearance. Perfectly identical motif placement cannot always be guaranteed.

NATURAL LINEN CHARACTERISTICS

Pure linen is a natural textile and may contain:

• Small slubs
• Occasional knots
• Slightly thicker or thinner yarns
• Minor woven irregularities
• Subtle texture variations
• Gentle variations in the natural ground colour

These features are normal characteristics of genuine linen and should not be considered manufacturing defects.

The visible natural weave contributes to the relaxed, tactile and luxurious character of the finished blind.

COLOUR VARIATION

The fabric is best described as warm ivory with taupe, mushroom beige and soft brown detailing.

Colour may appear slightly different according to:

• Natural or artificial lighting
• Warm or cool light bulbs
• The direction of sunlight
• The viewing angle
• Screen brightness
• Individual monitor or phone settings

A fabric sample is recommended when an exact match with existing paint, wallpaper, upholstery or bedding is essential.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Remove surface dust regularly with a soft brush.
• A vacuum cleaner with a soft upholstery attachment may be used on low suction.
• Support the fabric gently while vacuuming.
• Do not machine wash the completed Roman blind.
• Do not immerse the fabric or operating mechanism in water.
• Do not use bleach or harsh cleaning products.
• Avoid vigorous rubbing of the printed surface.
• Treat small marks carefully with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
