The fabric weighs approximately 294 GSM. This has been converted from a supplied weight of 403 grams per linear metre based on a fabric width of 54 inches, or approximately 137 cm.

Because linen is a natural material, minor slubs, fine yarn variations and subtle irregularities may be visible within the weave. These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and should not be regarded as defects. They add depth, authenticity and an organic handcrafted appearance to the curtains.

The print has a soft watercolour character that allows the linen texture to remain visible beneath the design. It is not raised or embroidered.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS

The base fabric is produced in approximately 50-inch usable widths. Therefore, every 100-inch-wide curtain will be made by carefully joining two 50-inch fabric widths.

A vertical joining seam will be present near the middle of the finished 100-inch-wide curtain. The seam is sewn neatly and becomes barely noticeable once the curtain is installed and arranged into its normal gathered folds.

If you order a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains, both individual curtains will contain a joining seam.

FOUR HEADING STYLES

You may choose from four curtain heading options.

Hooks top

The upper edge is finished with curtain heading tape for hooks. This option can be used with both curtain tracks and curtain rods. When using a rod, suitable curtain rings and hooks will be required.

Hooks top creates neatly controlled gathers and is especially useful for extra-wide curtains or windows fitted with a track.

Back tabs

Hidden fabric tabs are sewn onto the reverse of the curtain heading. The curtain rod passes through these tabs, leaving the front clean and uninterrupted.

Back tabs create soft, even folds and a simple tailored appearance. They are designed for use on a curtain rod rather than a track.

Rod pocket

A sewn pocket is created across the top of the curtain, and the rod slides directly through it.

Rod-pocket curtains have a soft gathered appearance and work particularly well in nurseries, children’s rooms and relaxed interiors.

Grommets

Metal eyelets are fitted across the curtain heading, allowing the curtain rod to pass directly through the openings.

Grommets create broad, uniform folds and allow the curtains to move easily along the rod.

THREE LINING OPTIONS

Unlined

The natural linen fabric is semi-sheer when used without a liner. It gently filters daylight and offers a soft level of daytime privacy while allowing the woven linen texture to remain especially visible.

Because the curtain is semi-sheer, shapes or silhouettes may remain visible from outside at night when the interior lights are switched on.

Unlined curtains are ideal when you want an airy nursery, naturally softened daylight and the relaxed appearance of linen.

Organic cotton light-filtering liner

A soft organic cotton liner can be added for increased privacy and additional fabric body.

The cotton lining makes the curtains visually opaque while still allowing gentle, diffused daylight to enter the room. It also helps protect the face fabric and gives the curtains a fuller, more substantial drape.

This option is well suited to nurseries, children’s bedrooms, playrooms and reading spaces where privacy is required without making the room completely dark.

100% blackout liner

For maximum darkness, select the 100% blackout option.

The blackout liner is an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton fabric made from approximately 50% cotton and 50% polyester. It blocks light through the curtain fabric and is suitable for nurseries, toddler bedrooms, daytime naps and rooms affected by street lighting or early morning sunlight.

Please remember that small amounts of light can still enter around the outer edges, above or below the curtains depending on the curtain rod position and installation method. For the darkest result, install the rod above and wider than the window so the curtains overlap the surrounding wall.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE CURTAIN WIDTH

For an attractive full appearance, the combined finished width of your curtains should normally be wider than the curtain rod or track.

For moderate fullness, choose a combined curtain width approximately 1.5 times the usable rod or track width.

For a fuller, more luxurious gathered appearance, choose a combined curtain width approximately twice the usable rod or track width.

Example:

For a 50-inch-wide window or rod, a pair of 50-inch-wide curtains provides a combined finished width of 100 inches and creates substantial fullness.

Measure only the usable length of the rod or track, excluding decorative finials.

HOW TO MEASURE THE HEIGHT

Measure from the point where the curtain will actually hang.

For hooks top, measure from the hook or track position.

For back tabs, rod pockets or grommets, measure from the curtain rod position.

For floor-length curtains, we recommend checking the measurement at several points because floors and ceilings are not always perfectly level.

CAFE CURTAINS

Short custom cafe curtains can also be made from this linen fabric for smaller nursery windows, playrooms, reading corners, children’s bathrooms or windows where only the lower section requires privacy.

HANDMADE CHARACTER

Each curtain is individually cut and sewn to the selected measurements. Small variations can naturally occur due to the handmade process and the behaviour of pure linen.

Pattern placement at seams and side edges may vary according to the ordered width and height. On extra-wide curtains, the fabric widths will be joined as described above.

Computer screens and mobile displays can reproduce colour differently. Lighting conditions within your room may also affect how the ivory, sage, taupe, grey and ochre tones appear. Viewing the listing photographs on more than one device is recommended when precise colour matching is important.

CARE

For the best preservation of the natural linen texture, printed design, heading construction and optional lining, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

Avoid using bleach or harsh stain-removal chemicals. Do not scrub the printed surface. Light dust may be removed carefully with a soft upholstery brush or a vacuum cleaner on its lowest setting using an appropriate fabric attachment.
