The embroidered pattern is stitched into the surface of the fabric rather than simply printed onto it. This creates visible texture and dimensional detail that can be appreciated both from a distance and in close-up views.

The available finished width options for each curtain are:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS

The original embroidered linen fabric is approximately 50 to 54 inches wide. Therefore, a curtain measuring 100 inches wide cannot be cut from one continuous piece of fabric.

Every 100-inch-wide curtain will be made by carefully joining two approximately 50-inch-wide fabric panels.

This creates one vertical joining seam near the middle of the finished curtain. The seam will be professionally stitched and neatly finished. After the curtain is installed and arranged into natural folds, the central seam is normally barely visible.

The embroidered pattern will be coordinated as carefully as the fabric repeat permits. However, because the fabric contains repeating botanical motifs, the embroidery may not align perfectly across the joining seam.

This construction detail applies separately to every 100-inch-wide curtain. A pair of 100-inch-wide curtains will therefore have a joining seam in each individual curtain.

When your required measurement is not available in the size menu, select and purchase the next standard size larger than the exact finished size you require.

When you require one curtain measuring 47 inches wide by 82 inches high, select the 50-inch-wide by 84-inch-high option and enter:

“Exact finished size required: 47 inches wide x 82 inches high.”

Please mention whether the measurements are for each individual curtain, particularly when ordering a set of two.

FOUR AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES

The curtains can be made with any one of the following heading styles:

1. HOOKS TOP

The hooks-top heading is suitable for hanging the curtain from either a curtain rod or a curtain track.

It can be used with suitable curtain hooks, rings, track gliders or carriers according to your existing installation. This is an excellent option for ceiling-mounted tracks, wall-mounted tracks and traditional curtain rods fitted with rings.

The hooks-top style provides a structured appearance and is especially useful when the curtain must move smoothly along a track.

2. BACK TABS

Back tabs are fabric loops sewn discreetly onto the reverse side of the curtain heading.

The curtain rod passes through the hidden tabs, creating a clean and uninterrupted appearance from the front. The tabs remain concealed when the curtain is installed.

Back-tab curtains create soft, evenly spaced folds and are ideal for modern, transitional and minimalist interiors.

This heading is intended for use with a curtain rod.

3. ROD POCKET

A fabric channel is created across the top of the curtain so that the curtain rod can pass directly through it.

Rod-pocket curtains create a soft, gathered and relaxed appearance. This heading works particularly well in farmhouse, cottage, traditional, romantic and casual interiors.

The rod-pocket heading is intended for use with a curtain rod rather than a curtain track.

4. GROMMETS

Metal grommets are installed across the top edge of the curtain.

The curtain rod passes directly through the grommets, allowing the curtain to slide easily along the rod. This heading creates neat, rounded and regularly spaced folds.

Grommets are suitable for contemporary, modern and practical everyday window installations.

LINING OPTIONS

You may choose from three different curtain constructions:

1. UNLINED

The unlined option allows the natural beauty and drape of the embroidered pure linen to remain the main focus.

When unlined, the curtains have a semi-sheer, privacy-light-filtering quality. They soften harsh daylight while allowing natural light to pass gently through the fabric.

Unlined curtains are suitable for:

• Living rooms
• Dining rooms
• Home offices
• Rooms where soft natural light is preferred
• Windows where complete darkness is not required
• Layering with blinds or another window treatment

The unlined fabric offers a degree of daytime privacy. However, outlines and silhouettes may become visible from outside at night when interior lights are switched on.

2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER

An organic cotton liner may be added to increase privacy, opacity, body and structure.

The cotton-lined option is designed to make the curtains opaque for greater privacy while still allowing softly diffused natural light into the room.

The organic cotton liner:

• Provides considerably more privacy than the unlined option
• Makes the curtain more opaque
• Reduces the visibility of shadows and silhouettes
• Softens strong daylight
• Adds body and fullness to the curtain
• Protects the reverse side of the embroidered linen
• Preserves a naturally light and comfortable atmosphere

This option is recommended for living rooms, dining rooms, guest bedrooms, nurseries and bedrooms where privacy is important but complete darkness is not required.

3. 100% BLACKOUT LINER

The blackout option includes an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton blackout liner.

This lining is designed to block light completely through the covered curtain fabric and create a darkened room when the curtains are properly closed.

The blackout liner:

• Blocks light through the curtain fabric
• Provides complete privacy
• Prevents silhouettes from being visible through the curtain
• Gives the curtains additional weight and structure
• Helps create a darker sleeping environment
• Is ideal for bedrooms and nurseries
• Is suitable for media rooms and shift workers
• Helps reduce strong direct sunlight entering through the covered window

A small amount of light can still enter around the outer edges, top or bottom of the curtain depending on the installation, curtain fullness and distance between the curtain and the wall.

The blackout option is the best choice when maximum darkness and privacy are required.

PATTERN PLACEMENT

These curtains are cut from a continuous roll of embroidered linen fabric.

The exact position of each botanical frond may vary from one finished curtain to another according to the selected width, height and section of fabric used.

For a set of two curtains, we will coordinate the pattern placement as closely as the embroidery repeat and available fabric permit. However, the panels may not be exact mirror images.

Differences in motif placement are normal for custom-made curtains produced from large-scale embroidered fabric and do not indicate a defect.

CUSTOM CAFE CURTAINS

We can also make these embroidered linen panels as custom cafe curtains or short window curtains.

Cafe curtains are ideal for covering the lower portion of a window while leaving the upper portion open for daylight. They work beautifully in kitchens, breakfast areas, bathrooms, utility rooms, laundry rooms, cottages and small farmhouse windows.
