Ivory Blue Sailboat Pure Linen Curtains, Watercolor Nautical Nursery Drapes, Kids Room Blackout, Custom Size
Create a peaceful ocean-inspired nursery or children’s bedroom with these custom pure linen sailboat curtains. Made from thick and substantial printed linen, the curtains feature a soft watercolour seascape with sailing boats, rolling waves and airy cloudlike brushstrokes arranged as a complete scenic panel.
The natural, understated colour palette gives the design a playful children’s-room character without looking excessively bright or cartoonish. It is suitable for baby nurseries, toddler bedrooms, older children’s rooms, playrooms, reading corners and coastal-themed family interiors.
COLOUR AND PATTERN
The design is printed on a softly textured natural ivory and light oatmeal linen background.
Misty aqua, pale sky blue, muted ocean blue and blue-grey watercolour brushstrokes create layers of clouds, distant horizons and gently rolling waves. Very subtle pale green accents appear within parts of the softly painted background.
A group of hand-painted sailboats appears across the lower and middle areas of the curtain. Their sails and hulls contain restrained accents of warm mustard yellow, rust red, muted coral, soft blush, navy blue, medium blue and natural cream.
The larger sailboats are positioned closer to the lower area, while smaller boats appear farther away to create a gentle sense of depth. Layered blue waves become more prominent toward the bottom of the curtain, while the upper area remains spacious and softly atmospheric.
The overall look is calm, airy and imaginative, making it especially suitable for:
Nautical nurseries
Ocean-themed bedrooms
Baby boy rooms
Gender-neutral nurseries
Coastal children’s rooms
Sailing-themed playrooms
Beach-house children’s bedrooms
Minimalist and Scandinavian interiors
Soft watercolour nursery decor
PLACEMENT-STYLE SCENIC PRINT
This fabric has a scenic placement design rather than a small continuously repeating pattern.
The supplied fabric image represents one complete miniature version of the full-sized panel artwork. The scene progresses vertically from the softly painted sky and distant atmosphere near the upper area to the sailboats and increasingly defined ocean waves toward the lower area.
The complete design is therefore intended to read as one illustrated seascape rather than as rows of identical sailboats repeated throughout the curtain.
Pattern placement along the side edges and within the folds may differ slightly according to the selected finished width, height, heading style and amount of gathering. Natural folds will hide and reveal different parts of the artwork when the curtains are installed.
PURE LINEN FABRIC
These curtains are made from pure linen with a clearly visible natural woven texture.
The linen is thick, heavy and substantial, helping the finished curtains form deep, attractive folds rather than hanging flat. The textured surface also complements the softly painted watercolour print and gives the curtains a more organic, tactile appearance.
The supplied fabric weight is 403 grams per linear metre at a fabric width of 54 inches. This converts to approximately 294 GSM.
Calculation:
54 inches = approximately 1.3716 metres
403 grams ÷ 1.3716 square metres = approximately 293.8 GSM
Rounded fabric weight: approximately 294 GSM
The print is applied to the surface of the linen and is not embroidered or raised.
Natural linen may contain small slubs, yarn variations, slightly thicker threads and subtle irregularities within the weave. These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and contribute to its relaxed, handcrafted appearance. They should not be considered manufacturing defects.
SINGLE CURTAIN OR PAIR
The curtains can be purchased as:
One single curtain panel
A pair or set of two curtain panels
Please check the selected option carefully before ordering.
Unless a variation specifically states otherwise, the selected width and height refer to the finished measurements of each individual curtain panel.
For example:
A pair of 50-inch-wide curtains includes two individual curtains, each measuring 50 inches wide.
The combined flat width of the pair will therefore be 100 inches before the curtains are gathered on the rod or track.
AVAILABLE WIDTHS
50 inches wide per curtain — approximately 127 cm
100 inches wide per curtain — approximately 254 cm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
The base fabric is produced in approximately 50-inch panel widths.
A 100-inch-wide curtain will therefore be created by carefully joining two 50-inch fabric panels.
A vertical joining seam will be present near the centre of each 100-inch-wide finished curtain. The seam will be sewn neatly and becomes barely visible after the curtain is installed and arranged into its normal gathered folds.
The joining seam is a necessary part of producing an extra-wide curtain from this scenic linen fabric and should not be regarded as a defect.
If a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains is ordered, each of the two individual curtains will contain a joining seam.
Because the fabric contains a large placement-style scenic print rather than a small conventional repeat, the artwork around the joining seam will be arranged as neatly as the fabric construction permits. Exact invisible pattern matching across every painted brushstroke cannot be guaranteed.

CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES
Custom widths and heights can also be made.
To order a custom size:
Select the next available standard size that is equal to or larger than the measurements you require.
Enter the exact finished width and height required for each individual curtain in the order details email.
Please write the measurements clearly as width × height.
Also state your required heading style and lining option.
Example:
Finished measurement per curtain: 46 inches wide × 91 inches high
Quantity: Pair of two curtains
Heading: Back tabs
Lining: Organic cotton light-filtering
Please select and pay for a standard size large enough to accommodate the requested custom measurements. Do not select a smaller size than the finished dimensions required.
FOUR AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
The curtains can be made with one of four heading styles:
HOOKS TOP
The upper edge is finished with curtain heading tape designed to accept curtain hooks.
Hooks top is compatible with both curtain tracks and curtain rods.
For use with a track, suitable hooks are attached to the heading tape and connected to the track gliders.
For use with a rod, hooks are attached to the heading tape and then connected to curtain rings fitted onto the rod.
This heading allows the gathering to be adjusted and creates an orderly, tailored appearance. It is particularly practical for wide curtains and frequently opened windows.
BACK TABS
Fabric tabs are sewn onto the back of the curtain heading. The curtain rod passes through the concealed tabs, leaving the front of the curtain clean and uninterrupted.
Back tabs produce broad, soft folds and a relaxed tailored appearance.
This option is designed for use on a curtain rod and is not suitable for a standard curtain track unless separate rings and suitable hooks are added.
ROD POCKET
A continuous fabric pocket is created across the top of the curtain. The rod passes directly through this pocket.
Rod-pocket curtains create a soft, gathered look that works particularly well in nurseries, children’s bedrooms and informal interiors.
The rod-pocket style is best suited to curtains that do not need to be opened and closed repeatedly throughout the day, as the fabric gathers move directly along the rod.
GROMMETS
Metal eyelets are installed across the top of the curtain, allowing the curtain rod to pass directly through the openings.
Grommets create broad and evenly spaced folds and allow the curtain to move smoothly along the rod.
The grommet style is suitable for modern, minimalist and contemporary children’s rooms.
Please clearly enter one of the following heading choices in the order details email:
Hooks top
Back tabs
Rod pocket
Grommets
The heading shown in a listing photograph will not automatically be used for every order. Your required heading must be stated in the order details email.
THREE LINING OPTIONS
UNLINED
Without a liner, the pure linen fabric has a semi-sheer, light-filtering quality.
The unlined curtain softens incoming daylight and provides a moderate level of daytime privacy while allowing the linen weave to remain especially visible.
Because the fabric is semi-sheer, silhouettes and interior light may remain visible from outside during the evening when the room lights are switched on.
The unlined option is ideal for rooms where the priority is soft natural light, an airy atmosphere and the relaxed appearance of pure linen.
ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
An organic cotton liner can be added behind the linen face fabric.
The cotton lining provides greater privacy, makes the curtain visually opaque and gives the finished curtains additional body and weight.
It still permits softly diffused natural light to enter the room, so it does not create complete darkness.
This option is suitable for:
Nurseries requiring additional privacy
Children’s rooms that should remain softly illuminated
Playrooms and reading areas
Bedrooms where complete blackout is unnecessary
Rooms where the face fabric requires additional protection from direct sunlight
The organic cotton liner also reduces the visibility of silhouettes through the curtain at night.
100% BLACKOUT LINER
For maximum light blocking, select the 100% blackout lining option.
The blackout liner is an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, non-toxic polycotton fabric composed of approximately 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
It blocks light through the curtain fabric and is especially useful for:
Baby and toddler nap times
Children who sleep during daylight hours
Early morning sunlight
Streetlights and exterior lighting
Nurseries requiring a darker sleeping environment
Bedrooms with strong direct sunlight
Although the liner blocks light through the fabric itself, small amounts of light may enter around the sides, above, below or between the curtains depending on the installation.
For the darkest result, install the curtain rod above the window and extend it beyond both sides of the window frame. Choose sufficient curtain width so the panels overlap properly in the centre and cover the surrounding edges.
Please state one of the following lining choices in the order details email:
Unlined
Organic cotton light-filtering
100% blackout
HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT WIDTH
The width selected refers to the flat finished width of each curtain before gathering.
Curtains should normally have a combined finished width greater than the usable width of the rod or track.
For moderate fullness, choose a combined curtain width approximately 1.5 times the usable rod or track width.
For a fuller and more luxurious gathered appearance, choose a combined width approximately twice the usable rod or track width.
Example:
For a 50-inch-wide rod, a pair of 50-inch-wide curtains provides a combined flat width of 100 inches and approximately twice fullness.
For a 90-inch-wide rod, a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains provides a combined flat width of 200 inches and creates substantial fullness.
Measure only the usable section of the rod or track. Do not include decorative finials when calculating the required curtain width.
HOW TO MEASURE THE HEIGHT
Measure from the point where the finished curtain will begin to hang.
For hooks top, measure from the hook or track position.
For back tabs and rod pockets, measure from the upper surface of the curtain rod.
For grommets, consider that a small section of fabric will normally extend above the rod.
Measure down to the desired finishing point:
At the windowsill
Slightly below the windowsill
Above a radiator or piece of furniture
Approximately half an inch above the floor
Gently touching the floor
For floor-length curtains, take measurements at several positions because floors, rods and ceilings are not always perfectly level.
CAFE CURTAINS
Custom cafe curtains can also be made from this scenic sailboat linen.
Cafe curtains are shorter window panels that cover only part of the window. They can work especially well for:
Small nursery windows
Children’s bathrooms
Playroom windows
Reading corners
Coastal kitchens
Beach-house bathrooms
Windows where lower-level privacy is required while the upper area remains open
For custom cafe curtains, select the next available size large enough to accommodate your measurements and enter the exact finished width and height in the order details email.
Please also include your required heading style, lining option and whether you need a single cafe curtain or a pair.

Please review all measurements and selections carefully before submitting the order because these curtains are custom cut and sewn according to the information supplied.
HANDMADE CONSTRUCTION
Each curtain is individually cut and sewn to the selected measurements.
Small differences may naturally occur between panels because of the handmade production process, the natural behaviour of linen and the large scenic placement print.
The side hems, bottom hem and heading are professionally finished for a clean appearance and long-lasting use.
The exact visibility of the sailboats, waves and painted sky within individual folds will depend on how tightly the curtains are gathered after installation.
When the curtains are drawn across the window, more of the scenic artwork will be visible. When they are gathered toward the sides, portions of the scene will naturally disappear within the folds.
COLOUR AND SCREEN VARIATION
The main fabric colours include natural ivory, light oatmeal, misty aqua, pale sky blue, ocean blue, blue-grey, soft green, mustard yellow, rust red, muted coral, blush, navy and cream.
Colour can appear different according to:
Room lighting
Window direction
Time of day
Device display settings
Computer or mobile-screen calibration
Selected lining option
The unlined fabric may appear lighter when daylight passes through it. The organic cotton and blackout liners will make the face fabric appear more solid and opaque.
A physical fabric sample is recommended when an exact colour match is particularly important.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the linen texture, printed design, lining and custom construction.
Do not bleach.
Do not use harsh stain removers.
Do not scrub the printed surface.
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture.
Light dust can be removed carefully with a soft upholstery brush or a vacuum cleaner on its lowest setting using a suitable fabric attachment.
If the curtains become creased during shipping, allow them to hang naturally before attempting further treatment. Linen relaxes gradually after installation.
A handheld steamer may be used cautiously from the reverse side at a safe distance, provided the selected lining and heading hardware are protected from excessive heat.
These custom sailboat linen curtains combine a soft storybook ocean scene with substantial natural fabric and practical lining choices. The scenic waves, airy painted sky and colourful sailing boats bring a gentle nautical character to a child’s room while remaining refined enough for a carefully designed modern home.
