How to measure for inside recess mount: Inside recess means the Roman shade will fit within the window frame.

Step 1: Measure the inside width in 3 places: top, middle, and bottom. Step 2: Use the smallest width measurement. Step 3: Measure the inside height in 3 places: left, centre, and right. Step 4: Use the full height measurement. Step 5: Enter the exact recess measurements in the order details email and mention “inside recess”. Step 6: Make sure there is enough depth inside the recess for the hardware and the fabric fold stack.

How to measure for outside recess mount: Outside recess means the Roman shade will be fitted outside the window opening on the wall or trim.

Step 1: Measure the width of the area you want the blind to cover. Step 2: Add extra width on both sides where possible for better privacy and light control. Step 3: For blackout use, outside recess fitting is usually best because it helps reduce side light gaps. Step 4: Measure from the point where you want the blind to start at the top down to where you want it to finish. Step 5: Enter the exact finished blind size in the order details email and mention “outside recess”.
