Inside recess fitting means the Roman shade will sit inside the window opening.

Step 1:
Measure the exact recess width at the top. Do not make any deductions

Use the exact height you want the shade to cover inside the recess.

Step 5:

Important:
For inside recess fitting, please make sure your window recess has enough depth for the Roman shade hardware. If your recess is shallow, outside recess fitting may be a better option.

MEASURING GUIDE FOR OUTSIDE RECESS INSTALLATION

Outside recess fitting means the Roman shade will be fitted on the wall, window frame or molding outside the window opening.

Step 1:
Measure the exact area you want the Roman shade to cover.

Step 2:
For better privacy and light coverage, we usually recommend adding extra width beyond the window opening.

Step 3:
A common recommendation is to add 2–4 inches / 5–10 cm extra on each side of the window if space allows.

Step 4:
For the height, measure from where you want the top of the Roman shade to start down to where you want it to finish.

Step 5:
Enter the final finished width and finished height in the order details email and clearly mention “outside recess.”
