Dark Charcoal Gray, Taupe & Ivory Printed Linen Curtains, Geometric Check Farmhouse Drapes, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering Panels
DARK CHARCOAL GREY, TAUPE & IVORY PRINTED PURE LINEN CURTAINS – GEOMETRIC CHECK FARMHOUSE DRAPES
Bring bold neutral pattern, substantial pure-linen texture and sophisticated farmhouse character to your windows with these custom-made dark charcoal grey, taupe and ivory printed linen curtains.
This distinctive fabric features a large repeating geometric check formed by deep charcoal-grey horizontal and vertical bands.
The dark bands intersect to create a strong windowpane-style grid across the complete fabric surface.
Inside every charcoal-framed compartment is a warm mushroom-taupe or pale greige block.
A smaller natural-ivory square overlaps one corner of each taupe block, creating a layered arrangement of nested and offset geometric forms.
The design combines the familiar character of farmhouse plaid, buffalo check and gingham curtains with a more unusual modern geometric structure.
Unlike an ordinary two-colour checkerboard, this print contains three coordinated tonal layers:
• Deep charcoal-grey framework
• Warm mushroom-taupe interior blocks
• Smaller natural-ivory inset squares
The result is bold and graphic without becoming stark.
The soft linen texture, weathered charcoal colour and warm supporting neutrals keep the pattern organic, relaxed and easy to coordinate.
OVERALL COLOUR APPEARANCE
The complete colour palette can be summarised as:
DARK CHARCOAL GREY + GRAPHITE + MUSHROOM TAUPE + PALE GREIGE + NATURAL IVORY
The darkest and most visually dominant colour is a deep charcoal grey.
Depending on the lighting and surrounding furnishings, this colour may also appear as:
• Graphite grey
• Soft black-grey
• Deep smoke grey
• Dark pewter
• Weathered charcoal
• Iron grey
• Anthracite grey
• Dark mushroom grey
• Warm slate grey
• Deep taupe-grey
The dark grid is not a completely flat jet black.
It is a softened charcoal with subtle grey, taupe and brown undertones.
The visible linen weave introduces fine lighter fibres and gentle speckling throughout the dark printed areas.
This gives the charcoal framework a naturally weathered textile appearance rather than the uniform finish of a synthetic printed fabric.
The interior blocks are warm neutral shades that may be described as:
• Mushroom taupe
• Warm greige
• Putty beige
• Pale stone
• Oatmeal-grey
• Light taupe
• Dusty fawn
• Natural flax-beige
• Soft beige-grey
The smallest inset blocks are:
• Natural ivory
• Warm off-white
• Soft cream
• Pale oatmeal
• Unbleached white
The ivory is warmer and softer than a brilliant optical white.
The overall effect is neutral, earthy and sophisticated, with enough contrast to make the geometric design clearly visible from across the room.
DETAILED PATTERN DESCRIPTION
The complete printed pattern contains:
• Wide vertical charcoal-grey bands
• Wide horizontal charcoal-grey bands
• Large repeating windowpane compartments
• Mushroom-taupe interior blocks
• Smaller offset ivory squares
• Nested and layered geometric forms
• A large-scale repeating check
• Visible natural linen grain beneath the print
Relevant pattern descriptions include:
• Geometric check
• Windowpane check
• Nested-square pattern
• Offset-square design
• Layered block print
• Dark farmhouse plaid
• Buffalo-check-inspired pattern
• Gingham-inspired check
• Charcoal checkered print
• Neutral geometric grid
• Retro block design
• Modern country check
Although the fabric has strong visual connections to plaid, gingham and buffalo check, it is not a standard two-colour buffalo-check design.
Traditional buffalo check consists of equal alternating squares created by intersecting bands.
This fabric has a more detailed internal structure because each charcoal-framed compartment contains both a warm taupe block and a smaller ivory inset square.
The most accurate description is therefore:
DARK CHARCOAL GEOMETRIC WINDOWPANE CHECK WITH TAUPE AND IVORY NESTED SQUARES
PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED PURE LINEN
The charcoal, taupe and ivory design is professionally printed onto the surface of the pure linen face fabric.
The design is not embroidered.
It is not a raised jacquard pattern.
It is not appliquéd.
It is not a traditional yarn-dyed woven check.
The colours are printed directly into the linen while allowing the natural woven structure to remain visible.
Fine fibres, tiny slubs and subtle yarn irregularities can be seen beneath and through the printed areas.
The colour may appear slightly lighter over raised linen yarns or natural slubs.
This gives the printed design authentic textile depth and prevents the pattern from appearing completely flat or digitally pasted onto the fabric.
THICK AND HEAVY PURE LINEN
The face fabric is made from thick and heavy pure linen with substantial body and a richly tactile surface.
The supplied fabric weight is 403 grams per linear metre at a width of 54 inches.
A fabric width of 54 inches equals approximately 1.3716 metres.
The corresponding weight per square metre is:
403 ÷ 1.3716 = approximately 294 GSM
The pure linen face fabric therefore weighs approximately 294 GSM.
GSM means grams per square metre and provides a standardised measurement of fabric weight.
At approximately 294 GSM, this is a substantial decorative curtain linen rather than a lightweight linen voile or thin gauze.
The fabric provides:
• A thick and luxurious hand
• Substantial curtain body
• Attractive vertical folds
• A structured but natural drape
• Strong visual presence
• A premium designer-textile appearance
Despite its heavier construction, the unlined curtain can still become semi-sheer when strong daylight passes through the small natural spaces within the linen weave.
NATURAL LINEN CHARACTERISTICS
Pure linen naturally contains small variations that contribute to its distinctive organic appearance.
These may include:
• Natural linen slubs
• Tiny knots
• Fine woven lines
• Minor yarn-thickness changes
• Subtle fibre irregularities
• Slight surface variation
• Small differences in print coverage over raised yarns
• Minor colour variation between production batches
These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and should not be considered manufacturing defects.
They help distinguish natural linen from completely smooth and mechanically uniform synthetic cloth.
SINGLE CURTAIN OR PAIR OF CURTAINS
These curtains can be purchased as:
• One single curtain panel
• One pair or set of two curtain panels
Please select your required option carefully.
All width and height measurements shown in the size menu refer to EACH INDIVIDUAL CURTAIN PANEL, not the combined measurements of a pair.
For example:
• One 50-inch-wide curtain means one panel measuring 50 inches wide
• A pair of 50-inch-wide curtains means two panels, each measuring 50 inches wide
• The pair provides a combined flat fabric width of 100 inches
The stated width is the flat fabric width before the panel is gathered or arranged into folds on the curtain rod or track.
For a full appearance, the combined flat width of the curtains should normally be greater than the width of the rod, track or window being covered.
STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS
The standard width choices for each individual curtain panel are:
• 50 inches wide – approximately 127 cm
• 100 inches wide – approximately 254 cm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
The pure linen face fabric is approximately 54 inches wide.
A finished curtain measuring 100 inches wide cannot be cut from one continuous width of this fabric.
Each 100-inch-wide curtain will therefore be constructed by carefully joining two approximately 50-inch fabric panels.
This creates one vertical joining seam in the finished curtain.
We carefully align the charcoal grid, taupe blocks and ivory squares wherever the fabric repeat permits.
The joining seam is professionally sewn and made as discreet as possible.
Once the curtain has been installed and arranged into natural vertical folds, the seam is generally barely visible.
Please select the 100-inch width only if you are comfortable with this necessary construction detail.
If you order a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains, each individual curtain will contain its own joining seam.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
Standard finished curtain heights are available from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
• 36 inches – approximately 91 cm
• 48 inches – approximately 122 cm
• 60 inches – approximately 152 cm
• 72 inches – approximately 183 cm
• 84 inches – approximately 213 cm
• 96 inches – approximately 244 cm
• 108 inches – approximately 274 cm
• 120 inches – approximately 305 cm
• 132 inches – approximately 335 cm
• 144 inches – approximately 366 cm
• 156 inches – approximately 396 cm
• 168 inches – approximately 427 cm
• 180 inches – approximately 457 cm
The extensive length range makes these curtains suitable for:
• Standard windows
• Short windows
• French doors
• Patio doors
• Bay windows
• Tall architectural windows
• Floor-to-ceiling windows
• Double-height rooms
• High-ceiling installations
• Extra-long curtain requirements

CUSTOM-SIZE EXAMPLE
If you require a pair of curtains measuring exactly 43 inches wide × 79 inches high per panel, select the next larger available option and write:
“Please make two curtain panels, each exactly 43 inches wide × 79 inches high. Hooks Top. Organic cotton light-filtering liner.”
FOUR AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
These curtains can be made with any of the following four heading options:
1. HOOKS TOP
Curtain heading tape is sewn across the back of the panel and suitable curtain hooks are included.
Hooks Top curtains are compatible with:
• Curtain tracks
• Bay-window tracks
• Ceiling-mounted tracks
• Curtain rods used with curtain rings
• Many traverse and rail systems
For rod installation, the hooks attach to curtain rings.
For track installation, the hooks attach to track runners or gliders.
Hooks Top is the most versatile choice when compatibility with either a rod or track is required.
2. BACK TABS
Hidden fabric tabs are sewn across the reverse of the curtain.
The rod passes through these concealed tabs, producing a clean appearance from the front.
Back Tabs create soft, organised vertical folds and partially conceal the curtain rod.
They are suitable for curtain rods rather than standard curtain tracks.
3. ROD POCKET
A continuous fabric pocket is sewn across the top of the curtain.
The curtain rod slides directly through this pocket.
Rod Pocket curtains create softly gathered folds and a relaxed farmhouse, rustic or country appearance.
The standard rod pocket comfortably accommodates a curtain rod up to approximately 1.25 inches in diameter.
If your rod is thicker, please include its exact diameter in the order details email.
A decorative top ruffle is not included unless specifically requested.
4. GROMMETS
Grommets or eyelets are installed across the top of the curtain.
The curtain rod passes directly through the grommets, producing organised vertical folds and easy movement along the rod.
Grommet curtains are intended for curtain rods rather than standard curtain tracks.
Please contact us before ordering if a particular grommet colour is important for your interior.

LINING OPTIONS
1. UNLINED – SEMI-SHEER PRIVACY CURTAINS
The unlined option preserves the most natural and relaxed appearance of the linen.
Although the approximately 294 GSM face fabric is thick and substantial, daylight can pass through small spaces within the natural weave.
When positioned directly in front of a bright window, the unlined curtain therefore has a semi-sheer and light-filtering quality.
Choose the unlined option if you want:
• Softly diffused daylight
• Visible natural linen texture
• A relaxed farmhouse appearance
• Gentle daytime privacy
• Natural movement and drape
• A softly illuminated room
Privacy will depend on the direction and intensity of the light.
At night, when the interior lights are switched on, silhouettes or room details may be visible from outside.
Select a liner if stronger privacy or complete opacity is required.
2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner makes the curtain completely opaque and provides increased privacy while still allowing softly filtered daylight into the room.
It also adds body, structure and a clean finished appearance to the reverse of the curtain.
Choose the organic cotton liner if you want:
• Completely opaque curtains
• Increased daytime privacy
• Increased night-time privacy
• Softly filtered natural light
• Reduced visibility of silhouettes
• Additional curtain body
• A more structured drape
• A neatly finished reverse side
The organic cotton liner is particularly suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, family rooms, home offices, guest rooms and bedrooms where complete darkness is unnecessary.
3. 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER
For complete darkness and maximum privacy, select the 100% blackout liner.
The blackout lining is made from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton consisting of:
• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester
The blackout material blocks light transmission through the curtain completely.
It is the most suitable option for:
• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Night-shift sleepers
• Rooms affected by street lighting
• Windows facing intense morning sunlight
• Rooms receiving strong afternoon sun
• Spaces requiring maximum privacy
Although the blackout liner completely blocks light through the curtain material, small amounts of light may enter around the top, sides, centre or bottom of the installation.
For the darkest possible result, use enough total curtain width for generous overlap and extend the curtains beyond the complete window opening.
CAFÉ CURTAINS AVAILABLE
We can also make custom café curtains, kitchen curtains, tier curtains, half-window curtains and short curtains from this same dark charcoal, taupe and ivory printed linen.
Café curtains cover the lower portion of a window while leaving the upper section open for daylight.
They are particularly suitable for:
• Farmhouse kitchens
• Country kitchens
• Breakfast nooks
• Kitchen windows above sinks
• Bathrooms
• Utility rooms
• Laundry rooms
• Pantry windows
• Cottage windows
• Cabinet openings

• Glass-panel doors
• Small nursery windows
For custom café curtains, select the next larger available size and enter the exact finished width, finished height, heading style and lining option in the order details email.
Rod Pocket and Hooks Top are especially practical heading choices for café-curtain installations, depending on the rod or track being used.

PATTERN PLACEMENT
Each curtain is individually cut and made from a continuously printed fabric roll.
The precise starting position of the design may vary depending on the ordered measurements and the section of fabric from which the curtain is cut.
Pattern placement may therefore differ slightly from the listing photographs.
For pairs, we coordinate the pattern across both panels wherever the fabric dimensions and repeat permit.
For 100-inch-wide curtains, we align the geometric design at the joining seam as carefully as the repeat allows.
COLOUR DISCLAIMER
Colours can appear different according to daylight, artificial lighting, camera exposure, surrounding furnishings and individual screen settings.
The darkest framework may appear deep charcoal in neutral daylight, warmer black-grey under warm illumination, graphite in shadow or slightly cooler anthracite under cool artificial lighting.
The supporting blocks may appear mushroom taupe, pale greige, putty beige or warm stone depending on the surrounding light.
The lightest inset blocks are natural ivory rather than brilliant white.
