HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN INSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An inside-recess Roman shade is installed within the window opening for a clean, fitted appearance.

Step 1: Check the recess depth

Confirm that the recess has enough clear depth for the Roman shade headrail and mounting clamps. Check for handles, locks, vents, tiles or other obstructions.

Step 2: Measure the inside width

Using a rigid metal measuring tape, measure the internal width in three places:

• Across the top
• Across the middle
• Across the bottom

Record all three measurements and use the smallest width.

Step 3: Measure the inside height

Measure the internal height in three places:

• Down the left side
• Through the center
• Down the right side

Use the longest height measurement.

Step 4: Provide the exact recess measurements

Enter the exact measured recess width and height in the order details email.

Please do not make your own fitting deduction unless specifically requested. The required manufacturing allowance for an inside fit will be applied while making the shade.

Step 5: Measure each window separately

Do not assume that two windows have identical dimensions, even when they appear to be the same size.

Measuring the width in three places and using the narrowest inside measurement is standard guidance for inside-mounted Roman shades.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN OUTSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An outside-recess Roman shade is installed on the wall, trim or surface surrounding the window opening.

Step 1: Choose the mounting position

Decide exactly where the upper mounting clamps will be fitted. Confirm that the surface is suitable and free from obstructions.

Step 2: Measure the required finished width

Measure the complete area you want the Roman shade to cover, including your preferred overlap beyond both sides of the window opening.

Greater side overlap can improve privacy and reduce light entering around the edges.

The width you provide will be treated as the requested finished width of the shade.

Step 3: Measure the required finished height

Measure from the intended top mounting position down to the point where you want the fully lowered shade to finish.

Include any required coverage above the window and below the sill or trim.

Step 4: Enter the finished measurements

Enter the complete outside-mount width and height in the order details email.

No inside-recess deduction will be applied to an outside-mount order.

Step 5: Confirm the mounting type

Clearly write “outside recess” so that the correct outside-mount clamps can be included.

Outside-mount measurements should cover the complete area required, including the chosen overlap around the opening.

This is a functional cord-operated Roman blind.
