HOW TO MEASURE FOR INSIDE RECESS / INSIDE MOUNT

Choose an inside-recess fitting when you want the Roman blind to sit within the window frame or recessed opening.

1. Check that the window recess has sufficient unobstructed depth for the Roman shade and its mounting hardware.

2. Measure the internal width of the recess at the top, middle, and bottom.

3. Record the smallest of the three width measurements.

4. Measure the internal height on the left side, in the center, and on the right side.

5. Record the smallest of the three height measurements.

6. Use a rigid metal measuring tape for the most accurate result.

7. Enter the exact recess width and height in the order details email.

8. Clearly write “Inside Recess” so the correct clamps can be supplied.

Check for handles, locks, tiles, vents, or other projecting objects that could interfere with the movement of the blind.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR OUTSIDE RECESS / OUTSIDE MOUNT

Choose an outside-recess fitting when the Roman shade will be installed on the wall or window frame surrounding the opening.

1. Measure the complete width of the uncovered window opening.

2. Add the desired overlap on both sides for improved privacy and light coverage.

3. Where sufficient space is available, adding approximately 2–4 inches on each side is generally recommended.

4. Decide where the upper edge of the Roman shade will be installed above the window.

5. Measure from that upper installation point to the desired lower finishing point.

6. Add sufficient coverage above and below the opening where appropriate.

7. Enter the final required finished width and height, including all added overlap.

8. Clearly write “Outside Recess” so the correct clamps can be supplied.

For an outside mount, the measurements entered should represent the final dimensions required for the finished Roman shade, not only the dimensions of the uncovered window opening.
