50% cotton

50% polyester

This liner is designed to block light from passing through the fabric and is suitable for bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms, guest rooms and other spaces where stronger light control and privacy are required.

Please note that “100% blackout” refers to the light-blocking performance of the lining material. Small amounts of light may still enter around the outer edges of an inside-mounted shade because clearance is required for the blind to operate inside the recess. An outside-recess installation with generous overlap generally provides better overall room darkening.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN INSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An inside-recess Roman shade is installed within the window opening for a clean and fitted appearance.

1. CHECK THE RECESS

Confirm that the window recess has enough unobstructed depth for the mounting clamps and headrail.

Check for window handles, locks, vents, tiles, trim or other objects that could interfere with the blind.

2. MEASURE THE WIDTH IN THREE PLACES

Measure the internal width of the recess:

Across the top

Across the middle

Across the bottom

Use the smallest of these three measurements.

3. MEASURE THE HEIGHT IN THREE PLACES

Measure the internal height:

On the left side

Through the centre

On the right side

Use the longest measurement to ensure adequate vertical coverage.

4. MEASURE ACCURATELY

Use a rigid metal tape measure and measure to the nearest 1/4 inch or approximately 0.5 cm.

Do not rely on architectural drawings or measurements from an existing blind.

5. PROVIDE THE EXACT RECESS SIZE

Enter the exact measured recess width and height in the order details email and clearly state “inside recess.”

Please do not make your own width deduction. A small production allowance will be made for operational clearance within the recess.

Because an inside-mounted shade requires side clearance, a narrow line of light may be visible around the edges when the blackout liner is selected.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR AN OUTSIDE-RECESS ROMAN SHADE

An outside-recess Roman shade is installed over and beyond the window opening. This option can help cover window trim, make a window appear larger and reduce light gaps around the edges.

1. DECIDE THE DESIRED WIDTH

Measure the total area that you want the finished shade to cover.

For improved privacy and light control, it is commonly recommended to extend the shade approximately 2–3 inches or 5–8 cm beyond each side of the window opening, where space permits.

2. DECIDE THE TOP POSITION

Choose where the mounting clamps will be installed above the window or on the surrounding trim.

Begin your height measurement from this mounting position.

3. MEASURE THE FINISHED HEIGHT

Measure from the selected top mounting position to the point where you want the lowered blind to finish.

Allow sufficient overlap below the window opening or trim.

4. CHECK THE SURROUNDING AREA

Make sure the proposed finished width and height will not interfere with:

Door handles

Window handles

Shelves

Wall lights

Cabinets

Furniture

Radiators

Nearby walls

5. PROVIDE THE FINISHED SHADE SIZE

For an outside-recess installation, enter the complete finished width and finished height you want the Roman shade to have.
