Tip: Measuring in 3 spots helps account for window frames that aren’t perfectly square.

Outside recess mount (on the wall/trim above the window)

1. Measure the window width and decide your side overlap (commonly 2–4 in / 5–10 cm per side to reduce light gaps).
2. Add overlaps and write that total as your exact width.
3. Measure from the top mounting point down to where you want the shade to end, and write that as your exact length.
Tip: Mounting a bit higher than the frame can make the window look taller and more polished.
