Charcoal Gray, Taupe & Ivory Printed Linen Curtains, Geometric Check Farmhouse Drapes, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering Panels
CHARCOAL GREY, TAUPE & IVORY PRINTED PURE LINEN CURTAINS – GEOMETRIC CHECK FARMHOUSE WINDOW DRAPES
Bring sophisticated neutral colour, bold farmhouse pattern and substantial natural-linen texture to your windows with these custom-made charcoal grey, taupe and ivory printed pure linen curtains.
The fabric features a distinctive repeating geometric check composed of soft charcoal-grey bands, warm mushroom-taupe blocks, pale greige areas and smaller natural-ivory inset squares.
Wide charcoal-grey horizontal and vertical bands intersect across the fabric to form a large windowpane-style grid.
Inside each section of the grid is a warm taupe or pale greige square.
A smaller ivory block overlaps one corner of each taupe square, producing a layered and offset arrangement of nested geometric forms.
This distinctive structure gives the curtain the familiar decorative appeal of farmhouse plaid, buffalo check and gingham while remaining more complex than a conventional two-colour checkerboard.
The pattern is bold enough to create a strong feature at the window, but the completely neutral colour palette prevents it from appearing harsh or visually overwhelming.
It works equally well in traditional farmhouse interiors, modern neutral homes, rustic cottages and cleaner contemporary spaces.
OVERALL COLOUR APPEARANCE
The complete colour impression is:
CHARCOAL GREY + MUSHROOM TAUPE + PALE GREIGE + NATURAL IVORY
The darkest printed framework is a softly weathered charcoal grey.
Depending on the lighting, it may also appear as:
• Dark mushroom grey
• Warm charcoal
• Taupe-grey
• Weathered graphite
• Soft pewter
• Smoky grey
• Stone grey
• Dark greige
• Grey-brown
• Muted ash grey
This is not a stark jet black or a cold blue-grey.
The colour contains subtle warm taupe and brown undertones, giving it a softer and more natural appearance.
The natural linen weave remains visible through the print, creating tiny lighter fibres and gentle speckling across the charcoal areas.
The secondary blocks include:
• Mushroom taupe
• Warm greige
• Pale stone
• Putty beige
• Light taupe
• Oatmeal-grey
• Natural flax
• Soft beige-grey
• Dusty mushroom
The smallest inset blocks are:
• Natural ivory
• Warm off-white
• Soft cream
• Pale oatmeal
• Unbleached white
The ivory is softer and warmer than a brilliant optical white.
The closely related neutral shades create a calm, layered palette that coordinates easily with both warm and cool interiors.
DETAILED PATTERN DESCRIPTION
The complete printed design contains:
• Wide vertical charcoal-grey bands
• Wide horizontal charcoal-grey bands
• Large repeating windowpane compartments
• Warm taupe and greige interior blocks
• Smaller offset ivory squares
• Layered and nested geometric forms
• A large-scale repeating check
• Visible linen grain beneath the printed colour
The pattern can accurately be described as:
• Geometric check
• Windowpane check
• Nested-square pattern
• Offset-square design
• Layered block print
• Modern farmhouse plaid
• Grey farmhouse check
• Buffalo-check-inspired print
• Gingham-inspired check
• Neutral geometric grid
• Retro block pattern
• Large checkered design
Although plaid, gingham and buffalo check are relevant shopper-facing terms, this is not a conventional two-colour buffalo check.
Traditional buffalo check normally consists of alternating equal squares created by overlapping horizontal and vertical colour bands.
This fabric is more distinctive because each charcoal-framed compartment contains both a taupe block and a smaller ivory inset square.
“Geometric windowpane check” and “nested-square farmhouse pattern” therefore provide the most accurate visual descriptions.
PRINTED PURE LINEN
The complete charcoal, taupe and ivory design is professionally printed onto the pure linen face fabric.
The pattern is not embroidered.
It is not appliquéd.
It is not a raised jacquard.
It is not a traditional yarn-dyed woven check.
The colours are printed directly into the surface of the linen while allowing the underlying natural weave to remain visible.
This gives the pattern a softer, more organic appearance than a completely smooth synthetic print.
Small linen fibres and yarn irregularities may remain visible through the printed areas.
The printed colour may appear slightly lighter over raised slubs or thicker yarns.
These variations are natural consequences of printing onto genuine textured linen and contribute to the luxurious designer-fabric appearance.
THICK AND HEAVY PURE LINEN
The curtains are made from thick and heavy pure linen face fabric with substantial body and a richly tactile surface.
The supplied fabric weight is 403 grams per linear metre at a width of 54 inches.
A width of 54 inches equals approximately 1.3716 metres.
The corresponding weight per square metre is therefore:
403 ÷ 1.3716 = approximately 294 GSM
The pure linen face fabric weighs approximately 294 GSM.
GSM means grams per square metre and provides a standardised measurement of fabric weight.
At approximately 294 GSM, this is a substantial decorative linen rather than a lightweight linen voile or very thin gauze.
The heavier construction gives the curtains:
• A luxurious tactile feel
• Substantial body
• Attractive vertical folds
• A structured but natural drape
• Greater visual presence
• A premium designer-textile appearance
Despite its substantial weight, the unlined fabric can still become semi-sheer when strong daylight passes through the small natural spaces between the linen yarns.
NATURAL LINEN CHARACTERISTICS
Pure linen is valued for its visible natural fibres and organic woven texture.
Small variations may include:
• Natural linen slubs
• Tiny knots
• Fine woven lines
• Minor yarn-thickness changes
• Subtle fibre irregularities
• Gentle surface variation
• Slight changes in how the print sits over thicker yarns
• Minor differences between production batches
These are normal characteristics of genuine linen and should not be considered faults.
They distinguish natural linen from completely smooth and mechanically uniform synthetic cloth.
SOLD AS A SINGLE CURTAIN OR A PAIR
These curtains are available as:
• One single curtain panel
• One pair or set of two curtain panels
Please select your required option carefully.
All measurements shown in the size menu refer to EACH INDIVIDUAL CURTAIN PANEL, not the combined measurement of a pair.
For example:
• One 50-inch-wide curtain means one panel measuring 50 inches wide
• A pair of 50-inch-wide curtains means two panels, each measuring 50 inches wide
• The pair provides a combined flat fabric width of 100 inches
The stated curtain width is the flat fabric width before the curtain is gathered or arranged into folds on the rod or track.
For a fuller appearance, the total flat width of the curtains should generally be greater than the width of the window, rod or track being covered.
STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS
The available standard widths for each individual curtain panel are:
• 50 inches wide – approximately 127 cm
• 100 inches wide – approximately 254 cm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
The face fabric is approximately 54 inches wide.
A finished curtain measuring 100 inches wide cannot be cut from one continuous fabric width.
Each 100-inch-wide curtain will therefore be constructed by carefully joining two approximately 50-inch fabric panels.
This creates one vertical joining seam in the finished curtain.
We carefully align the charcoal grid, taupe blocks and ivory inset squares wherever the fabric repeat permits.
The seam is professionally sewn and made as discreet as possible.
Once the curtain is installed and arranged into natural vertical folds, the joining seam is generally barely visible.
Please select the 100-inch width only if you are comfortable with this necessary construction detail.
If you purchase a pair of 100-inch-wide curtains, each individual curtain will contain its own joining seam.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
Standard finished curtain heights are available from 36 inches to 180 inches in 12-inch increments:
• 36 inches – approximately 91 cm
• 48 inches – approximately 122 cm
• 60 inches – approximately 152 cm
• 72 inches – approximately 183 cm
• 84 inches – approximately 213 cm
• 96 inches – approximately 244 cm
• 108 inches – approximately 274 cm
• 120 inches – approximately 305 cm
• 132 inches – approximately 335 cm
• 144 inches – approximately 366 cm
• 156 inches – approximately 396 cm
• 168 inches – approximately 427 cm
• 180 inches – approximately 457 cm
This extensive height range makes the curtains suitable for:
• Standard windows
• Short windows
• French doors
• Patio doors
• Bay windows
• Tall architectural windows
• Floor-to-ceiling windows
• Double-height rooms
• High-ceiling installations
• Extra-long curtain requirements

CUSTOM-SIZE EXAMPLE
If you need a pair of curtains measuring exactly 43 inches wide × 79 inches high per panel, select the next larger listed size and write:
“Please make two curtain panels, each exactly 43 inches wide × 79 inches high. Hooks Top. Organic cotton light-filtering liner.”
FOUR AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
These curtains can be made with any of the following heading options:
1. HOOKS TOP
Curtain heading tape is sewn across the back of the curtain and suitable curtain hooks are included.
Hooks Top curtains are compatible with:
• Curtain tracks
• Bay-window tracks
• Ceiling-mounted tracks
• Curtain rods used with rings
• Many traverse and rail systems
For a rod installation, the curtain hooks attach to curtain rings.
For a track installation, the hooks attach to the track runners or gliders.
Hooks Top is the most versatile option if you require compatibility with either a curtain rod or curtain track.
2. BACK TABS
Hidden fabric tabs are sewn across the reverse of the curtain.
The curtain rod passes through the concealed tabs, producing a clean, uncluttered appearance from the front.
Back Tabs create soft, organised vertical folds and partially conceal the curtain rod.
They are intended for use with curtain rods rather than standard curtain tracks.
3. ROD POCKET
A continuous fabric pocket is sewn across the top of the curtain.
The curtain rod slides directly through this pocket.
Rod Pocket curtains form softly gathered folds and create a relaxed farmhouse, country or cottage appearance.
The standard rod pocket comfortably accommodates a rod up to approximately 1.25 inches in diameter.
If your rod is thicker, please provide its exact diameter in the order details email.
A decorative top ruffle is not included unless specifically requested.
4. GROMMETS
Grommets or eyelets are installed across the top of the curtain.
The curtain rod passes directly through the grommets, creating regular vertical folds and allowing the curtain to move easily along the rod.
Grommet curtains are intended for curtain rods rather than conventional tracks.
Please contact us before ordering if a particular grommet colour is important for your room.

LINING OPTIONS
1. UNLINED – SEMI-SHEER PRIVACY CURTAINS
The unlined option preserves the most natural, relaxed linen appearance.
Although the approximately 294 GSM linen is thick and substantial, daylight can pass through small spaces within the natural weave.
When positioned directly in front of a bright window, the unlined curtain therefore has a semi-sheer, light-filtering quality.
Choose the unlined option if you want:
• Softly diffused daylight
• Visible natural linen texture
• An airy farmhouse appearance
• Gentle daytime privacy
• Natural movement and drape
• A softly illuminated room
Privacy will depend on the direction and intensity of the light.
At night, when the room is illuminated from inside, silhouettes or interior details may be visible from outside.
Select a liner if stronger privacy or complete opacity is required.
2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner makes the curtain completely opaque and provides significantly increased privacy while continuing to filter natural daylight.
It also adds body, structure and a neatly finished reverse side to the curtain.
Choose the organic cotton liner if you want:
• Completely opaque curtains
• Increased daytime privacy
• Increased night-time privacy
• Softly filtered natural light
• Reduced visibility of silhouettes
• Additional curtain body
• A more structured drape
• A neatly finished reverse side
The organic cotton liner is particularly suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, family rooms, home offices, guest rooms and bedrooms where total darkness is not required.
3. 100% BLACKOUT OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED POLYCOTTON LINER
For complete darkness and maximum privacy, select the 100% blackout liner.
The blackout liner is made from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton consisting of:
• 50% cotton
• 50% polyester
The blackout material blocks light transmission through the curtain completely.
This is the most suitable lining option for:
• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children’s rooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Night-shift sleepers
• Rooms affected by street lighting
• Windows facing bright morning sunlight
• Rooms receiving intense afternoon sun
• Spaces requiring maximum privacy
Although the liner blocks light through the curtain material, a small amount of light may enter around the top, bottom, sides or centre of the installation.
For the darkest possible room, use enough curtain width for generous overlap and extend the curtains beyond the complete window opening.
CAFÉ CURTAINS AVAILABLE
We can also make custom café curtains, kitchen curtains, tier curtains, half-window curtains and short curtains from this same charcoal grey, taupe and ivory printed linen.
Café curtains cover the lower portion of a window while leaving the upper section open for daylight.
They are particularly suitable for:
• Farmhouse kitchens
• Country kitchens
• Breakfast nooks
• Kitchen windows above sinks
• Bathrooms
• Utility rooms
• Laundry rooms
• Pantry windows
• Cottage windows
• Cabinet openings
• Under-counter storage
• Glass-panel doors
• Small nursery windows
For custom café curtains, select the next larger available size and enter the exact finished width, finished height, heading style and lining choice in the order details email.
Rod Pocket and Hooks Top are particularly practical choices for café-curtain installations, depending on the rod or track being used.

PATTERN PLACEMENT
The curtains are individually made from a continuously printed fabric roll.
The precise starting position of the pattern may vary according to the ordered dimensions and the section of fabric from which each curtain is cut.
Pattern placement may therefore differ slightly from the listing photographs.
For pairs, we coordinate the pattern across both panels wherever the fabric dimensions and repeat permit.
For 100-inch-wide curtains, we align the geometric design at the joining seam as carefully as the fabric repeat allows.
COLOUR DISCLAIMER
Colours can appear different according to daylight, artificial lighting, surrounding furnishings, camera exposure and individual screen settings.
The darkest framework may appear charcoal grey in neutral daylight, warmer taupe-grey under warm illumination, deeper graphite in shadow or slightly cooler pewter under cool artificial light.
The supporting blocks may appear mushroom taupe, pale greige, warm stone or beige-grey depending on the surrounding light.
The lightest inset blocks are natural ivory rather than brilliant white.
