Charcoal Brown Taupe Pure Linen Curtains, Ivory Printed Herringbone Ticking Stripe Farmhouse Drapes, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering
CHARCOAL BROWN, TAUPE AND IVORY PURE LINEN CURTAINS – PRINTED HERRINGBONE TICKING STRIPE FARMHOUSE DRAPES
Bring rich neutral color, substantial natural texture and timeless European farmhouse character to your windows with these thick and heavy pure linen curtains.
The fabric features a striking vertical ticking-stripe pattern in charcoal brown, deep espresso, dark cocoa, mushroom taupe, warm greige and creamy ivory. Broad dark bands with fine printed herringbone detailing are combined with narrow brown pinstripes, lighter taupe fields and generous ivory spaces.
The result is a sophisticated high-contrast neutral curtain that feels warmer and softer than a conventional black-and-white stripe. Its combination of ivory, taupe and dark brown creates the character of antique French ticking, vintage European grain-sack fabric and traditional farmhouse textiles.
These custom linen curtains can be purchased as one individual curtain panel or as a matching pair or set of two. Choose an unlined semi-sheer finish, an organic cotton light-filtering liner for complete privacy and opacity, or an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified blackout polycotton liner for complete darkness through the fabric.
DETAILED COLOR DESCRIPTION
The lightest parts of the fabric are a warm natural ivory to creamy off-white rather than a bright optical white.
Depending on the surrounding light, these lighter areas may appear as:
• Warm ivory
• Natural cream
• Oatmeal white
• Soft off-white
• Pale flax
• Light biscuit
• Ivory beige
• Unbleached linen
The wider neutral fields sit between taupe, beige and warm greige.
These areas may appear as:
• Mushroom taupe
• Stone beige
• Warm greige
• Pale mocha
• Putty beige
• Driftwood taupe
• Fawn brown
• Light cocoa
• Muted oatmeal
• Dusty brown-grey
The darkest vertical stripes appear as:
• Charcoal brown
• Espresso brown
• Deep cocoa
• Coffee brown
• Dark chocolate
• Brown-black
• Weathered charcoal
• Smoky umber
• Near-black brown under shaded lighting
The dark stripes are not a flat jet black. Their warm brown and charcoal undertones coordinate more naturally with wood furniture, brown leather and warm-neutral interiors.
The overall color impression is:
WARM IVORY + MUSHROOM TAUPE + NATURAL GREIGE + CHARCOAL BROWN + DEEP ESPRESSO
PATTERN DESCRIPTION
The design is a repeating vertical farmhouse ticking stripe made from several differently proportioned bands.
The repeat includes:
• Broad charcoal-brown vertical stripes
• Wide mushroom-taupe fields
• Narrow espresso pinstripes
• Closely grouped double lines
• Slim ivory channels
• Generous creamy off-white spaces
• Fine herringbone or chevron-like printed texture inside the broad dark bands
• Slightly softened print edges
• Visible natural linen texture beneath the design
The broader charcoal and espresso stripes contain a delicate zigzag or herringbone-style printed pattern. This provides visual depth and distinguishes the fabric from a basic flat stripe.
Please note that the herringbone-like detail is part of the PRINTED design. It is not embroidery, appliqué or raised jacquard weaving.
From across the room, the fabric reads as a classic dark brown, taupe and ivory vertical stripe. At closer range, the grouped pinstripes, tonal color variations and printed herringbone details become more noticeable.
The vertical orientation visually draws the eye upward and can help windows and ceilings appear taller.
MATERIAL AND WEIGHT
• Face fabric: Pure linen
• Fabric character: Thick, heavy and substantial
• Design technique: Printed vertical stripe
• Approximate fabric weight: 294 GSM
• Original supplied weight: 403 grams per linear meter
• Fabric width used for conversion: 54 inches
• Converted metric weight: Approximately 294 grams per square meter
• Main colors: Ivory, cream, taupe, greige, charcoal brown and espresso
• Surface: Naturally textured linen with visible yarn character
The approximate GSM has been calculated from the supplied weight of 403 grams per linear meter based on fabric measuring 54 inches wide.
This substantial curtain-weight linen has considerably more body than lightweight gauze, voile or sheer linen. It forms grounded folds and gives the finished panels a rich, full appearance.
Natural linen may display:
• Small slubs
• Fine fiber variations
• Slightly thicker yarns
• Tiny natural flecks
• Minor woven irregularities
• Subtle differences in surface texture
These characteristics are inherent to genuine linen and should not be considered manufacturing defects.

HOW THE CURTAINS ARE SOLD
These curtains are available as:
• One single curtain panel
• One pair or set of two curtain panels
Please select the required quantity carefully.
Unless the selected variation specifically says “Pair” or “Set of 2,” the price may apply to one individual panel.
IMPORTANT: Every selected width and height refers to the finished dimensions of EACH INDIVIDUAL PANEL—not the combined dimensions of a pair.
Examples:
• One 50-inch-wide panel measures approximately 50 inches wide when laid flat
• A pair of 50-inch-wide panels provides approximately 100 inches of combined flat width
• One 100-inch-wide panel measures approximately 100 inches wide when laid flat
• A pair of 100-inch-wide panels provides approximately 200 inches of combined flat width
AVAILABLE WIDTHS
• 50 inches wide / approximately 127 cm
• 100 inches wide / approximately 254 cm
The selected width is the actual finished flat fabric width before the curtain is gathered or arranged into folds.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 100-INCH-WIDE PANELS
The original linen fabric is approximately 54 inches wide. Therefore, one seamless 100-inch-wide panel cannot be cut from a single fabric width.
Every 100-inch-wide curtain panel will be constructed by carefully joining two approximately 50-inch fabric sections.
This construction creates one vertical joining seam near the middle of the finished panel. We will align and match the stripe pattern across the seam as carefully as the fabric repeat permits.
Once the curtain is installed and arranged into natural folds, the centered seam generally blends into the vertical design and is barely visible.
The joining seam is a normal and necessary construction detail of an extra-wide curtain panel and is not a defect.
STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS
The following finished lengths are available:
• 36 inches / approximately 91 cm
• 48 inches / approximately 122 cm
• 60 inches / approximately 152 cm
• 72 inches / approximately 183 cm
• 84 inches / approximately 213 cm
• 96 inches / approximately 244 cm
• 108 inches / approximately 274 cm
• 120 inches / approximately 305 cm
• 132 inches / approximately 335 cm
• 144 inches / approximately 366 cm
• 156 inches / approximately 396 cm
• 168 inches / approximately 427 cm
• 180 inches / approximately 457 cm
This extensive length range accommodates standard windows, floor-length drapes, tall ceilings, large doors, double-height rooms and dramatic extra-long curtain installations.
CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES
Custom widths and lengths are welcome.
To request customized finished measurements:
1. Measure the exact finished width and height required for each panel.
2. Select the next available standard size larger than your required measurements.
3. Enter the exact finished measurements in the order details email.
4. Enter your selected heading style.
5. Enter your chosen liner option.
6. Confirm whether you require one panel or a pair.
Example:
“Pair of 2 panels. Make each curtain exactly 47 inches wide × 93 inches long. Back Tabs. Organic Cotton Liner.”
Please do not select a standard size smaller than the custom dimensions required.
If the requested measurements exceed the paid size option, we may contact you before production begins.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE WIDTH
The displayed width is the actual flat width of each curtain panel. Additional material for gathers or fullness is not added automatically.
For attractive folds, the total combined curtain width should generally be approximately 1.5 to 2 times the width of the rod or track.
• Approximately 1.5× fullness creates a relaxed, lightly gathered appearance
• Approximately 2× fullness creates deeper and more luxurious folds
• Lower fullness creates a flatter, more tailored appearance
Example:
For a curtain rod measuring 100 inches wide, approximately 150 to 200 inches of combined flat curtain width is generally recommended.
A pair of 50-inch panels provides 100 inches of combined flat width and would appear relatively flat across a 100-inch rod. A pair of 100-inch panels provides 200 inches of combined flat width and would create a much fuller gathered appearance.
Please measure the complete rod or track rather than only the glass portion of the window.
LINING OPTIONS
1. UNLINED – SEMI-SHEER PRIVACY
The unlined option preserves the most natural appearance of the pure linen and gently filters incoming daylight.
Because linen contains visible yarn intersections, an unlined curtain should be considered semi-sheer when illuminated by strong daylight or interior lighting.
It provides moderate daytime privacy but is not completely opaque. Shapes or silhouettes may remain visible at night when the room is illuminated.
The unlined option works especially well in living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and other spaces where softly filtered daylight is preferred.
2. ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner adds body and provides substantially greater privacy while continuing to allow soft, diffused natural light into the room.
With the cotton liner, the curtain becomes completely opaque for normal privacy purposes.
This option is particularly suitable for:
• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Street-facing windows
• Living rooms
• Dining rooms
• Home offices
• Guest rooms
The cotton liner also supports a fuller drape and softens the visual effect of strong sunlight behind the panel.
The organic cotton liner is light filtering and does not create complete darkness.
3. OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED 100% BLACKOUT POLYCOTTON LINER
Choose the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified blackout polycotton liner for maximum room darkening.
This liner is designed to block light completely through the curtain fabric and is suitable for:
• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Night-shift sleepers
• Street-facing rooms
• Windows receiving strong morning sunlight
• Windows receiving intense afternoon sunlight
The blackout liner is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
Please remember that “100% blackout” refers to light passing through the lined fabric itself. Small amounts of light may still enter around the top, bottom or sides unless the curtains overlap the surrounding wall and are installed with suitable blackout hardware.
AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
HOOKS TOP
Curtain heading tape is sewn onto the back of the panel for use with curtain hooks.
This style is compatible with:
• Curtain tracks
• Curtain rods fitted with rings
Hooks Top provides a versatile, tailored appearance and works particularly well with existing track systems.
BACK TABS
Concealed fabric tabs are sewn onto the back of the curtain. The rod passes through the hidden tabs and remains largely invisible from the front.
Back Tabs create a clean upper edge and soft, naturally arranged folds.
ROD POCKET
A sewn channel at the top allows the curtain rod to pass directly through the panel.
Rod Pocket curtains create a simple, traditional and relaxed appearance suited to farmhouse, cottage and French country interiors.
GROMMETS
Metal eyelets are fitted across the top of the panel. The rod passes directly through the grommets.
This heading creates evenly spaced folds and allows the panel to move smoothly along a compatible curtain rod.
Please check that your rod diameter is suitable for the grommets.

The dark farmhouse pattern works particularly well for:
• Kitchen café curtains
• Breakfast-nook windows
• Bathroom privacy curtains
• Farmhouse sink skirts

• Under-counter skirts
• Short French country window panels
• Tier curtains for small windows

PATTERN PLACEMENT AND MATCHING
Each curtain is individually cut from a continuous length of printed linen. The exact stripe appearing at an outside edge may vary according to the requested finished width and the point from which the fabric is cut.
When a pair is ordered, the panels will be coordinated and pattern-matched as carefully as the design repeat permits.
For 100-inch-wide panels, we will also align the pattern across the centered joining seam as closely as reasonably possible. Absolute invisibility cannot be guaranteed, but the vertical stripe design helps the seam blend naturally into the installed folds.
COLOR DISCLAIMER
The fabric appears as warm ivory and mushroom taupe with deep charcoal-brown, espresso and cocoa stripes.
Actual colors may vary depending on:
• Natural daylight
• Warm or cool indoor lighting
• Camera exposure
• Screen brightness
• Monitor calibration
• Surrounding wall and furniture colors
Under warmer lighting, the dark bands may appear more chocolate, espresso or umber. Under cooler light, they may look more charcoal, smoky brown or almost black.
If precise color coordination is essential, purchasing a physical fabric swatch before ordering full custom curtains is strongly recommended.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Professional dry cleaning is recommended, particularly for lined, extra-wide and extra-long curtains.
Do not bleach, use harsh stain-removing chemicals or tumble dry at high heat. Linen naturally develops soft creases. Packaging folds can generally be relaxed with careful steaming from the reverse side after installation.
