Blue Olive Green Plaid Pure Linen Curtains, Heavy Tartan Drapes, Custom Blackout Farmhouse Window Panels
Add rich color, timeless pattern and beautifully tailored texture to your windows with these thick and heavy pure linen plaid curtains. The fabric features a classic tartan-inspired check design in muted blue and olive green, creating a sophisticated window treatment that feels traditional yet relaxed enough for contemporary homes.
The plaid is composed of large alternating blocks of dusty denim blue, slate blue, moss green and deep olive green. Fine intersecting stripes in pale sage, soft grey, muted yellow and dark charcoal travel horizontally and vertically across the fabric, adding definition and visual depth without making the pattern appear overly bright or busy. The restrained color palette gives the curtains an elegant heritage look that works especially well in farmhouse, rustic, country cottage, English cottage, lodge, cabin, traditional and transitional interiors.
These curtains are made from thick, substantial pure linen fabric with a visible natural weave and gently textured surface. The fabric weighs approximately 294 GSM, calculated from a weight of 403 grams per linear metre at a fabric width of 54 inches. This heavier linen quality gives the curtains excellent body, a luxurious hand and an attractive structured drape while still preserving the organic appearance associated with natural linen.
The plaid design is printed onto the pure linen fabric. It is not embroidered. Natural linen may contain small slubs, irregular yarn variations and subtle changes in texture. These characteristics are part of the beauty of genuine linen and should not be considered defects.
COLOR AND PATTERN
The principal colors visible in the fabric are:
Muted denim and slate blue
Olive green and moss green
Deep charcoal-grey detailing
Pale sage and soft grey fine stripes
Very subtle muted yellow accents at some stripe intersections
The overall effect is a sophisticated blue-and-green tartan plaid rather than a bright multicolored check. Depending on the surrounding furniture and lighting, the fabric may appear more blue in some rooms and more olive green in others.
This versatile palette coordinates beautifully with natural wood, warm oak, walnut, antique brass, black metal, cream upholstery, oatmeal linen, leather furniture, muted blue walls, olive cabinetry and neutral stone finishes.
Because screens, phones and room lighting display colors differently, slight variations between the photographs and the actual fabric are possible. A fabric swatch is recommended when an exact color match is important.
SINGLE CURTAIN OR SET OF TWO
These curtains can be ordered as:
Single curtain panel: You will receive one finished curtain.
Set of two curtains: You will receive two matching finished curtain panels.
The selected width and height apply to each individual curtain, not to the combined width of the pair.
For example:
A set of two curtains in 50 inches wide by 84 inches high includes two separate curtains, each measuring approximately 50 inches wide by 84 inches high.
A single curtain in 100 inches wide by 96 inches high includes one finished curtain measuring approximately 100 inches wide by 96 inches high.
Please check whether you have selected a single curtain or a set of two before completing your purchase.
LINING OPTIONS
Choose from three lining options depending on the amount of light control, privacy and fabric fullness required.
UNLINED
The unlined option allows the natural character and gentle movement of the pure linen to remain most visible.
Unlined curtains provide soft light filtering and semi-sheer daytime privacy. They reduce direct glare while allowing a pleasant amount of natural light into the room.
Because the fabric is not fully opaque when unlined, silhouettes or interior details may be visible from outside at night when the room lights are switched on. The exact transparency will depend on the intensity and direction of the light.
Choose unlined curtains when you prefer:
Natural linen movement
Soft filtered daylight
A lighter and more relaxed drape
Decorative curtains for a room that does not require complete privacy
Layering over blinds, shutters or another window treatment
ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
The organic cotton liner adds privacy, body and opacity while still allowing a softly diffused amount of daylight into the room.
The cotton-lined option makes the curtains substantially more opaque than the unlined version. It also supports the linen fabric, creates a fuller drape and helps the curtain folds fall more evenly.
Choose the organic cotton liner when you prefer:
Greater daytime and nighttime privacy
An opaque curtain without complete blackout
Softly diffused natural light
Additional body and structure
A natural-fiber lining option
Living-room, dining-room, nursery or bedroom curtains that do not require total darkness
The organic cotton liner is light filtering rather than blackout.
100% BLACKOUT LINER
The blackout option uses an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified polycotton blackout lining made with approximately 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
This liner prevents light from passing directly through the curtain fabric and is suitable for bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms, shift-worker bedrooms and other spaces where strong light control is required.
Choose the blackout liner when you prefer:
Maximum light blocking through the curtain
A darker sleeping environment
Improved privacy
A fuller and more substantial finished curtain
Protection from strong sunlight entering through the fabric
Blackout nursery or bedroom curtains
The blackout fabric blocks light through the curtain panel itself. As with all blackout window treatments, small amounts of light may still enter around the top, bottom or sides of the curtains depending on the rod placement, curtain fullness and installation. For the darkest result, install the rod above the window and extend the curtains beyond both sides of the window opening.
STANDARD WIDTHS
The standard finished width options are:
50 inches wide per curtain — approximately 127 cm
100 inches wide per curtain — approximately 254 cm
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS
The linen fabric is approximately 50 inches wide. Therefore, each finished 100-inch-wide curtain is made by joining two approximately 50-inch-wide fabric sections.
A neat vertical joining seam will be present near the middle of each 100-inch-wide curtain. The plaid pattern will be aligned as closely and carefully as the fabric layout permits.
Once the curtains are installed and arranged into natural folds, this seam is generally barely visible.
If you order a set of two curtains in the 100-inch width, each of the two finished curtains will contain its own joining seam.
STANDARD HEIGHTS
Available standard finished heights are:
36 inches — approximately 91 cm
48 inches — approximately 122 cm
60 inches — approximately 152 cm
72 inches — approximately 183 cm
84 inches — approximately 213 cm
96 inches — approximately 244 cm
108 inches — approximately 274 cm
120 inches — approximately 305 cm
132 inches — approximately 335 cm
144 inches — approximately 366 cm
156 inches — approximately 396 cm
168 inches — approximately 427 cm
180 inches — approximately 457 cm
The height is measured from the top edge of the finished curtain to the bottom edge.
CUSTOM CURTAIN SIZES
Custom widths and custom heights can also be made.
For a custom measurement, please select the next available standard size that is equal to or larger than the size you require. Enter the exact finished width and finished height needed in the order details email.
Example:
Required finished size: 46 inches wide by 91 inches high
Select: 50 inches wide by 96 inches high
Enter in personalization: Finished size required is 46 inches wide by 91 inches high.
Please do not select a standard size that is smaller than the custom size required.
For unusually wide curtains, extra-long curtains or measurements beyond the available menu options, please contact us before placing the order so that the fabric requirement and construction can be confirmed.
AVAILABLE HEADING STYLES
The curtains are available with four different heading styles.
HOOKS TOP
The hooks-top heading is designed for curtain hooks and can be installed on either a curtain track or a rod fitted with curtain rings.
This style creates a neat, versatile upper edge and is especially useful for traditional, tailored and full-length window treatments.
It is compatible with:
Curtain tracks
Rods with rings
Most standard curtain-hook systems
Please note that hooks-top curtains are not the same as grommet curtains or rod-pocket curtains.
BACK TABS
Back tabs are sewn onto the reverse side of the curtain heading. The rod slides through these hidden fabric loops, so the tabs are not visible from the front.
This creates a clean and tailored appearance with gentle, evenly spaced folds.
Back tabs are suitable for decorative curtain rods and are a good choice for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and farmhouse-style interiors.
ROD POCKET
A fabric channel is sewn across the curtain heading, allowing the curtain rod to slide directly through the pocket.
Rod-pocket curtains have a soft, gathered appearance and work particularly well for casual farmhouse, country cottage and rustic rooms.
Please confirm that your rod diameter will fit comfortably inside the pocket.
GROMMETS
Grommets are fitted across the curtain heading so that the rod passes directly through the rings.
This style is easy to install and creates broad, regular waves across the curtain.
Grommet curtains work well in modern farmhouse, transitional, contemporary and casual interiors.
The required heading style must be written in the order details email.
HOW TO MEASURE
Measure the width of the curtain rod or track rather than measuring only the glass portion of the window.
Decide whether you want the curtains to:
Cover only the window
Extend beyond the window frame
Meet in the centre
Overlap slightly in the centre
Remain mostly decorative at the sides
Provide full privacy when closed
For a fuller appearance, the combined curtain width should be greater than the width of the rod or track. The amount of fullness required depends on the heading style and the look you prefer.
Measure the finished height from the point where the curtain will begin to the point where you want the bottom hem to finish.
Possible curtain lengths include:
Window-sill length
Below-sill length
Apron length
Floor length
Slight break at the floor
Puddled length
For hooks-top curtains, take into account the position of the track, rings and hooks.
For back-tab, rod-pocket and grommet curtains, measure from the intended top of the curtain to the desired finished hem position.
If the curtains need to reach the floor, measure in several places because floors and ceilings are not always perfectly level.
CAFE CURTAINS AND SHORT WINDOW CURTAINS
This fabric can also be made into custom cafe curtains, kitchen curtains, bathroom curtains, half-window curtains, tier curtains, cabinet curtains, door-window curtains or short farmhouse window panels.
The blue and olive plaid works especially well for:
Farmhouse kitchen cafe curtains
Breakfast-nook windows
Pantry windows
Bathroom half windows
Utility-room windows
Cabinet or under-counter curtains
Country cottage kitchens
Rustic cabin windows
Small door windows
For cafe curtains, select the next available size above your required measurements and clearly enter the exact finished width, finished height, heading style and lining preference in the order details email.

PATTERN PLACEMENT
The pattern will be positioned carefully during cutting and sewing. However, the exact placement of the blue and olive plaid blocks may differ slightly from one curtain to another depending on the selected size and the point at which the fabric is cut.
For sets of two curtains, the panels will be coordinated as closely as the fabric repeat and selected dimensions allow.
For 100-inch-wide curtains, the tartan pattern will be matched across the central joining seam as closely as reasonably possible. Small variations are normal in handmade patterned curtains.

CARE
Regularly remove surface dust using a soft upholstery brush or a vacuum cleaner on a low setting.
Blot small marks carefully instead of rubbing them into the fibers.
Do not use bleach.
For full cleaning, professional dry cleaning is recommended, particularly for cotton-lined or blackout-lined curtains, to help preserve the print, dimensions, heading construction and lining.
If steaming is required, use moderate steam from the reverse side and avoid prolonged direct heat on one area.
Natural linen can crease during packing and transportation. Most creases relax after the curtains have been hung for several days. Gentle steaming may be used if necessary.
HANDMADE AND NATURAL-FABRIC CHARACTERISTICS
Every curtain is individually cut and sewn according to the selected options.
Pure linen naturally contains slubs, fine yarn irregularities and minor weave variations. These details give the fabric its characteristic organic texture.
Slight differences in pattern placement, weave, measurements or color tone can occur between production batches. When ordering curtains for the same room, purchasing all required panels together is recommended so they can be made from the same available fabric batch.
