Measure for your curtains

Enter your width and height together, then apply your measurements.

Size-dropdown widths are flat fabric widths per curtain.

A gathered curtain covers less space than its flat fabric width. Choose fullness below; Grommet/Eyelet and Pinch pleats always need 2× your coverage width.

This selection also updates Heading style on the product page.

Choose your fullness

Multiply the rod / track coverage by your fullness, then divide by the number of curtains.

Photorealistic fullness examples; actual folds vary with fabric and heading.

Measure the usable span of your installed rod or track, from one end of the curtain coverage to the other. Exclude decorative finials.

A pair contains two curtains. The flat fabric width you order is per curtain, not the combined pair. Choosing a curtain count here updates Panel quantity on the product page.

Enter the full measured drop. For Hooks top only, we subtract 1 in (2.54 cm) because the curtain hangs slightly below the rod. Do not deduct it yourself.

Apply your measurements

We select the exact available flat-width × finished-height size, or the closest larger size fitting both dimensions. For a larger size, your exact request is added to Custom sizes / requirements, preserving your own notes. Your curtain-count choice also updates Panel quantity on the product page.

Review your heading and fullness before applying. This updates your selected size but does not add anything to your cart.

Measure the space your curtains will cover

Measure the usable span of your installed rod or track, from one end of the curtain coverage to the other. Exclude decorative finials.

Measure the usable rod or track span—not the window glass or decorative finials.

Example: a 100 in (254 cm) rod, two curtains and 2× fullness need 100 in (254 cm) flat width per curtain.

Flat fabric width before gathering or pleating—not the hanging coverage.

Measure from the top of the rod to your chosen bottom

Measure straight down from the top of your installed curtain rod to where you want the curtains to end. For a track, use the top of the installed track.

Start at the top of the rod or track. Stop at your chosen bottom.

Black Grey Pure Linen Curtains, Abstract Geometric Line Print, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering Drapes — image 1

Black Grey Pure Linen Curtains, Abstract Geometric Line Print, Custom Blackout or Light Filtering Drapes

Product description
Shipping & returns

Bring bold graphic contrast, natural linen texture and understated modern character to your windows with these custom-made thick pure linen curtains.

The fabric has a sophisticated neutral ground in natural flax, oatmeal beige, taupe and soft greige, overlaid with irregular charcoal-black linear motifs and subtle warm sand-toned grid detailing.

Short horizontal, vertical and diagonal black strokes intersect and separate across the cloth, creating an abstract broken-line composition reminiscent of modernist drawing, minimalist line art and mid-century geometric textile design.

Rather than a perfectly rigid repeated pattern, the black markings have a slightly irregular, hand-drawn character that gives the fabric movement and personality while keeping the overall palette restrained and easy to coordinate.

These curtains are made from thick, heavyweight PURE LINEN printed fabric and can be purchased as:

• ONE SINGLE CURTAIN PANEL

or

• A PAIR / SET OF TWO MATCHING PANELS

They are available:

• UNLINED
• With an ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER
• With an OEKO-TEX® CERTIFIED 100% BLACKOUT POLYCOTTON LINER

A wide range of standard sizes is available, and custom finished measurements are welcome.

COLOR DESCRIPTION

The overall palette is neutral, earthy and monochromatic rather than stark black and bright white.

The main background color can appear as:

• Natural flax
• Oatmeal beige
• Taupe beige
• Warm greige
• Mushroom beige
• Natural linen
• Stone
• Putty
• Light warm gray
• Sand beige
• Weathered parchment

The principal printed color is:

• Charcoal black
• Soft black
• Near-black
• Graphite
• Black-brown in softer lighting

The subtle finer lines running through the background appear as:

• Warm beige
• Sand
• Wheat
• Pale straw
• Natural flax

The strongest overall visual impression is:

NATURAL FLAX / TAUPE BEIGE + CHARCOAL BLACK

This is not a crisp black-and-white fabric.

The linen ground is warmer, softer and more organic than white or ivory.

Likewise, the dark printed marks are slightly softened by the texture of the natural linen rather than appearing like shiny jet-black synthetic ink.

This more muted contrast makes the design especially suitable for interiors where a bold black pattern is wanted without creating an excessively harsh monochrome effect.

ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC PATTERN

The design is based on repeated irregular linear forms rather than floral, botanical or figurative motifs.

The pattern includes:

• Short charcoal-black horizontal bars
• Vertical black marks
• Diagonal black strokes
• Angled intersections
• Y-shaped and forked geometric forms
• Broken linear arrangements
• Isolated graphic marks
• Fine horizontal background lines
• Fine vertical background lines
• A very subtle rectangular or grid-like structure

Some marks meet at sharp angles while others terminate independently, creating the appearance of fragmented architectural lines.

The black elements are deliberately uneven in orientation.

Some lean diagonally.

Others run vertically.

Others create short horizontal crossbars.

This gives the textile a freer, less mechanical appearance than a conventional stripe or checked curtain.

The fine warm-neutral grid underneath gives the larger black motifs additional structure without competing with them.

The result can be described as:

• Abstract geometric curtains
• Minimalist line-art curtains
• Modern geometric drapes
• Mid-century-inspired curtains
• Contemporary linen curtains
• Neutral patterned curtains
• Black and beige curtains
• Graphic linen window panels
• Modernist textile design
• Scandinavian-inspired neutral decor
• Japandi-friendly window treatment
• Organic modern curtains

The design is graphic enough to become a focal point but neutral enough to work with a wide variety of furniture, wall colors and flooring.

PURE HEAVYWEIGHT LINEN

The decorative face fabric is PURE LINEN.

The supplied fabric weight is approximately 403 grams per linear metre on fabric measuring 54 inches wide.

54 inches = approximately 1.3716 metres.

403 grams ÷ 1.3716 metres = approximately 293.8 grams per square metre.

The face fabric therefore weighs approximately:

294 GSM

At approximately 294 GSM, this is a substantial curtain-weight pure linen rather than a very lightweight linen voile.

The heavier cloth gives the curtain body, texture and a substantial natural fall.

It also allows the finished panels to form attractive vertical folds rather than hanging like thin lightweight sheers.

Because it is genuine linen, the material still retains the relaxed organic surface associated with flax fibre.

NATURAL PURE LINEN TEXTURE

Genuine linen is naturally irregular.

You may notice:

• Visible linen weave
• Natural slubs
• Occasional thicker yarns
• Slightly finer yarns
• Tiny irregularities in the weave
• Natural tonal variation
• Gentle creasing
• Small differences in surface texture
• Slight variation in how the print sits over individual yarns

These characteristics are inherent to natural linen and help distinguish it from perfectly uniform synthetic linen-look fabric.

They are not defects.

The black geometric print sits over the textured woven surface rather than completely hiding it.

This allows the natural weave to remain visible throughout the curtain.

PRINTED DESIGN

The black and neutral geometric pattern is PRINTED onto the pure linen.

It is not embroidered.

It is not appliquéd.

It is not jacquard woven.

It does not have raised stitched motifs.

The black forms are part of the surface print, allowing the authentic linen weave and natural slubs to remain visible through and around the design.

This is particularly important to the appearance of this fabric because the contrast between the graphic black marks and the irregular natural linen surface gives the curtain much of its character.

UNLINED OPTION — NATURAL SEMI-SHEER LIGHT FILTERING

Choose UNLINED if you want the most natural expression of the pure linen fabric.

Although the face linen is thick and substantial, natural woven linen can allow some daylight to pass through when strongly illuminated from behind.

The unlined version therefore has a naturally light-filtering, semi-sheer character.

It offers:

• Softly filtered daylight
• Natural linen texture
• A relaxed organic appearance
• Moderate daytime privacy
• A lighter visual effect at the window
• The clearest view of the natural linen drape

These are not thin voile curtains.

The approximately 294 GSM pure linen has considerably more weight and body than a lightweight sheer.

However, when strong daylight is behind the fabric, some light and silhouettes may remain visible through the weave.

Night-time privacy can also vary depending on how bright the room is compared with the exterior.

If complete opacity is required, we recommend adding the organic cotton liner.

ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER

Choose our ORGANIC COTTON LIGHT-FILTERING LINER when you want greater privacy while retaining a softly illuminated room.

The cotton lining is added behind the decorative pure linen face fabric.

This option provides:

• Extra privacy
• Complete opacity through the curtain body
• Reduced visibility of silhouettes
• Softer filtered daylight
• Additional body
• A more substantial finished drape
• Greater separation between the printed face fabric and the window

This is an excellent choice for living rooms, dining rooms, home offices and bedrooms where privacy is important but complete darkness is not necessary.

The cotton lining also adds another layer behind the linen, helping the curtains appear fuller and more structured when installed.

The decorative black-and-beige face fabric remains visible from inside the room while the cotton liner sits behind it.

OEKO-TEX® CERTIFIED 100% BLACKOUT LINER

For maximum darkness, choose the OEKO-TEX® certified 100% blackout polycotton lining option.

The blackout liner prevents transmitted light from passing through the body of the curtain.

This is particularly suitable for:

• Bedrooms
• Nurseries
• Children's rooms
• Guest bedrooms
• Media rooms
• Home cinemas
• Rooms receiving strong morning sun
• Rooms affected by street lighting
• Shift workers
• Customers who prefer a dark sleeping environment

The blackout liner creates complete light blocking through the curtain fabric itself.

Please remember that the darkness of the entire room can also depend on how the curtain is installed.

Light can still enter around the outer edges, centre opening, top or bottom if there are gaps between the curtains and the wall or window.

For maximum room darkening, sufficient curtain width and overlap around the window are recommended.

SOLD AS A SINGLE CURTAIN OR A PAIR

These curtains can be purchased either individually or as a matching pair.

SINGLE PIECE

Selecting a single piece means that you receive:

ONE finished curtain panel.

A single curtain may be suitable for:

• Narrow windows
• Doors
• One-way opening windows
• Small spaces
• Customers who want one decorative panel
• Customers adding an additional panel to an existing arrangement

PAIR / SET OF TWO

Selecting a pair means that you receive:

TWO matching finished curtain panels.

A pair is normally used with one panel positioned on each side of a window.

Pairs are ideal for:

• Bedroom windows
• Living-room windows
• Dining-room windows
• French doors
• Large windows
• Sliding doors
• Symmetrical curtain arrangements

Please check whether you have selected a single panel or a pair before completing the order.

STANDARD WIDTH OPTIONS

Standard finished widths are:

• 50 inches
• 100 inches

The selected width refers to the approximate flat finished width of the curtain before gathering.

The visible fullness after installation will depend on:

• The width of your rod or track
• Whether you order one curtain or two
• Your selected heading
• How much gathering you prefer

For a fuller, more luxurious appearance, the total flat width of the curtains should normally exceed the width of the area being covered.

100-INCH-WIDE CURTAINS — IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION

The face linen is approximately 50 inches wide for curtain construction.

For this reason, a 100-inch-wide curtain cannot be made from one uninterrupted fabric width.

EVERY 100-INCH-WIDE CURTAIN WILL BE MADE BY JOINING TWO APPROXIMATELY 50-INCH FABRIC PANELS.

The two sections are professionally joined using a vertical seam.

This creates one vertical joining line through the 100-inch-wide finished curtain.

Once the curtain is installed and gathered into natural folds, the seam is generally barely visible.

Joining fabric widths is a standard method of making extra-wide custom curtains from decorator fabrics.

If you purchase a PAIR of 100-inch-wide curtains, each individual 100-inch curtain will contain a joined seam.

STANDARD HEIGHT OPTIONS

Standard finished lengths are available from 36 inches through 180 inches in 12-inch increments.

Available heights include:

• 36 inches
• 48 inches
• 60 inches
• 72 inches
• 84 inches
• 96 inches
• 108 inches
• 120 inches
• 132 inches
• 144 inches
• 156 inches
• 168 inches
• 180 inches

This extensive range makes the curtains suitable for standard windows as well as extra-tall architectural windows and high ceilings.

CUSTOM SIZES AVAILABLE

Custom finished measurements are welcome.

If your exact required size is not listed, simply choose the NEXT AVAILABLE SIZE UP.

Then write your exact required finished dimensions in the order details email.

Please enter measurements as:

WIDTH × HEIGHT

For example:

If you require:

50″ W × 91″ H

select:

50″ W × 96″ H

and enter:

“Please make finished size 50″ W × 91″ H.”

The curtain will then be made according to the exact finished size stated in your Personalization instructions.

If your required width is smaller than 50 inches, select the 50-inch option and state the exact smaller width required.

Please carefully check all measurements before placing the order because these curtains are individually made according to the measurements supplied.

FOUR HEADING STYLES AVAILABLE

These curtains can be made with four different heading styles:

1. HOOKS TOP
2. BACK TABS
3. ROD POCKET
4. GROMMETS

Please state the required heading in the order details email.

HOOKS TOP

The hooks-top heading is compatible with both curtain rods and curtain tracks.

It can be used with:

• Curtain tracks
• Curtain poles
• Curtain rods with rings
• Compatible hook systems

This is a versatile heading choice if you already have a track installed or prefer a more traditional hanging method.

The hooks remain relatively discreet while allowing the curtain to hang in controlled vertical folds.

BACK TABS

Back tabs are sewn behind the upper section of the curtain.

The curtain pole passes through these concealed fabric loops.

From the front, the pole is largely hidden behind the top of the curtain.

Back tabs give:

• Clean vertical folds
• Minimal visible hardware
• A modern tailored appearance
• A simple uninterrupted front heading

The clean appearance works particularly well with this minimalist black geometric print.

ROD POCKET

With the rod-pocket option, a channel is sewn across the upper portion of the curtain.

The curtain pole slides directly through this pocket.

Rod-pocket curtains provide:

• A naturally gathered heading
• Simple installation
• A relaxed appearance
• No need for separate curtain rings

Rod pocket works particularly well with:

• Living-room curtains
• Bedroom curtains
• Small windows
• Cafe curtains
• Relaxed modern interiors
• Boho and organic-modern rooms

GROMMETS

With the grommet option, metal eyelets are installed across the curtain heading.

The curtain rod passes directly through these eyelets.

Grommets create:

• Regular rounded folds
• Easy movement along a curtain rod
• A clean contemporary appearance
• Visible decorative hardware

This option works especially well in modern, industrial, minimalist and contemporary interiors.

CAFE CURTAINS ALSO AVAILABLE

We can also make CAFE CURTAINS from this same black and natural beige printed pure linen.

Cafe curtains are short curtains typically used to cover the lower portion of a window while leaving the upper section open.

They can provide privacy at eye level while allowing daylight to enter through the uncovered upper part of the window.

This fabric is particularly suitable for modern cafe curtains because the bold black abstract pattern remains visually interesting even on a shorter drop.

Cafe curtains can work beautifully in:

• Kitchens
• Breakfast rooms
• Kitchen sink windows
• Bathrooms
• Powder rooms
• Utility rooms
• Laundry rooms
• Breakfast nooks
• Cottage windows
• Small apartment windows
• Home offices
• Half-height windows

Custom cafe curtains can be made by selecting the next suitable size up and writing the exact required dimensions in the order details email.

Please also specify the required heading and liner.

EXTRA-LONG CURTAINS

Lengths are available up to 180 inches.

This makes the fabric suitable for dramatic tall-window applications including:

• Floor-to-ceiling windows
• High ceilings
• Double-height rooms
• Loft interiors
• Large living rooms
• Tall bedroom windows
• Architectural glazing
• Sliding doors
• Extra-long custom drapes

The irregular black geometric print works particularly well over a large expanse of cloth because the fragmented linear motifs remain visually interesting when viewed both close up and from across the room.

MODERN & MINIMALIST INTERIORS

The restrained black-and-neutral palette makes these curtains especially well suited to modern interiors.

Pair them with:

• Warm white walls
• Cream upholstery
• Beige sofas
• Natural oak
• Walnut
• Black metal
• Concrete
• Natural stone
• Minimal furniture
• Matte finishes

The black print provides strong definition while the natural linen background prevents the room from feeling overly stark.

MID-CENTURY MODERN INTERIORS

The abstract irregular geometry also works particularly well with mid-century-inspired furniture.

Try combining the curtains with:

• Walnut furniture
• Tapered wooden legs
• Cognac leather
• Sculptural lighting
• Warm neutral rugs
• Black accents
• Ochre accessories
• Olive accents
• Terracotta ceramics

The pattern has enough graphic character to complement vintage-modern shapes without appearing like a literal reproduction textile.

ORGANIC MODERN INTERIORS

Natural linen makes the curtains particularly suitable for organic-modern rooms.

Pair them with:

• Natural wood
• Bouclé upholstery
• Limestone
• Travertine
• Jute
• Woven baskets
• Handmade ceramics
• Warm white walls
• Soft taupe
• Black accents

The contrast between natural linen texture and bold black lines can create an excellent focal textile within an otherwise neutral room.

JAPANDI & SCANDINAVIAN-INSPIRED ROOMS

The minimal color palette can also work in restrained Scandinavian or Japandi-inspired spaces.

Combine it with:

• Pale oak
• Natural linen upholstery
• Warm white
• Soft greige
• Matte black
• Simple furniture
• Handmade pottery
• Woven natural fibers

The abstract design introduces visual movement without requiring bright color.

BOHO & ECLECTIC INTERIORS

Although the print is modern, its irregularity also works well in more relaxed bohemian spaces.

Pair with:

• Vintage timber
• Woven rugs
• Rattan
• Cane
• Leather
• Handmade pottery
• Natural fiber accessories
• Mixed neutral textiles

The understated color palette makes it easier to mix the curtains with other textures than a highly multicolored print.

BEDROOM CURTAINS

For bedrooms, choose the lining according to the level of light control required.

UNLINED:

Best when you want natural linen texture and softly filtered daylight.

ORGANIC COTTON LINED:

Best when privacy and complete opacity are important but you still want gentle ambient daylight.

BLACKOUT LINED:

Best when maximum darkness is required.

The neutral black and beige palette works well with bedding in:

• White
• Cream
• Oatmeal
• Taupe
• Camel
• Charcoal
• Black
• Olive
• Rust
• Terracotta

LIVING ROOM CURTAINS

For a living room, the unlined or organic-cotton-lined options work particularly well.

Unlined curtains show more of the natural character of the linen.

Cotton lining produces a more opaque and substantial finished panel.

The graphic print pairs especially well with contemporary sofas, natural wood furniture and simple black or brass hardware.

DINING ROOM CURTAINS

The fabric can create an architectural appearance in a dining space.

It coordinates well with:

• Walnut tables
• Oak dining tables
• Black dining chairs
• Cane chairs
• Neutral upholstery
• Black metal lighting
• Brass lighting
• Natural stone
• Handmade ceramic tableware

HOME OFFICE CURTAINS

The neutral palette also makes these curtains suitable for a home office.

Choose cotton lining when you want to soften glare while preserving daylight.

Choose blackout lining when much stronger light control is required.

PATTERN PLACEMENT

Because these curtains are cut from repeating printed fabric, the exact position of individual black motifs may vary from one curtain size to another.

Motif placement relative to:

• The top edge
• Side edges
• Bottom hem
• Centre seam

can vary according to the cut required for each custom size.

This is normal for curtains made from a continuously repeating patterned fabric.

The overall fabric design remains the same.

COLOR & SCREEN DISCLAIMER

Please remember that fabric colors can appear different depending on lighting and screen settings.

The linen background may look:

• Slightly warmer
• Slightly cooler
• More taupe
• More beige
• More greige

depending on:

• Daylight direction
• Artificial lighting
• Wall color
• Screen brightness
• Phone display
• Monitor calibration

Strong daylight may make the background appear lighter.

Warm indoor lighting can bring out more oatmeal and beige tones.

Cool daylight may emphasize the gray or greige quality of the natural linen.

The black motifs may also appear softer or deeper depending on illumination.

If an exact match with existing upholstery, paint, wallpaper or furniture is essential, ordering a fabric sample before purchasing multiple or very large custom curtains is recommended.
