Made from thick, heavy linen, the curtains feature genuine raised embroidery depicting scattered butterflies, moth-like winged insects and delicate dragonflies in a softly muted, earthy colour palette.

The substantial linen gives the curtains a graceful, weighty drape, while the widely spaced insect motifs keep the overall design light, airy and uncluttered. These custom nursery curtains are available as a single curtain panel or a pair and may be ordered unlined, with an organic cotton light-filtering liner or with an OEKO-TEX Standard 100-certified polycotton blackout liner.

COLOUR AND EMBROIDERED PATTERN

The base fabric is a soft white with a fine, visible linen weave. The embroidery combines several gentle, nature-inspired shades:

• Warm terracotta and caramel-orange wings
• Muted ochre, mustard and antique-yellow details
• Dusty blue, denim blue and pale aqua accents
• Soft oatmeal, beige and natural flax tones
• Muted olive and khaki-green markings
• Chocolate-brown bodies, antennae and wing sections
• Small burnt-orange and pale-blue circular details

The fabric features multiple embroidered insect forms:

• Rounded butterfly and moth-like motifs with terracotta wings, ochre bands, brown lower wings and pale-blue circular markings
• Soft beige butterflies with dusty-blue outlines, burnt-orange spots, muted-yellow lower wings and pale-aqua details
• Smaller butterflies combining mustard, dusty blue, peach, olive and brown
• Slender dragonflies with elongated pale-blue, cream and muted-olive wings

The motifs are arranged asymmetrically with generous areas of open white linen between them. This gives the curtains a whimsical yet refined appearance suited to neutral nurseries, boho children’s rooms, butterfly bedrooms, woodland interiors, nature-themed playrooms and softly vintage spaces.

This is genuine dimensional embroidery stitched into the linen—not a printed or painted insect pattern. The threadwork has visible stitch direction, raised texture and subtle natural variation.

THICK AND HEAVY LINEN

The heavy linen fabric has a substantial feel, naturally textured weave and elegant drape. Its weight makes it suitable for full-length nursery curtains, wide window panels and extra-long custom drapes.

The fabric weighs 403 grams per linear metre at a width of 54 inches. Unlined

The unlined option creates a semi-sheer privacy curtain that gently filters natural light while retaining the linen’s relaxed texture and natural drape.

Some silhouettes may remain visible at night when the room is illuminated. The amount of transparency will depend on the strength and direction of the light.

2. Organic cotton light-filtering liner

The organic cotton liner adds body, privacy and softness while still allowing filtered natural light into the room.

It makes the curtain completely opaque so the view through the fabric is concealed, but it is not intended to create complete darkness. This option works well for nurseries and children’s bedrooms where privacy is required without eliminating all daylight.

3. Total blackout liner

The blackout option uses an OEKO-TEX Standard 100-certified polycotton liner designed to block light completely through the covered curtain fabric.

This option is particularly suitable for nursery naps, early bedtimes, light-sensitive sleepers and rooms affected by early morning sunlight or street lighting.

For the most effective blackout result, the curtains should extend beyond the sides and top of the window.
